Formed in Kirksville, MO in March of 2011, The Busted String Band is a self described “Regressive Country & Western” band and is pleased to be as far from sellouts as possible, as they make tens of dollars a year playing their brand of honky-tonky/bluegrassy/country music.

The band has shared stages with & opened for a variety of acts, some you’ve heard of and some you haven’t. Those acts include Iron & Wine, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, The Whiskey Gentry, The Defibulators, Brandon Jenkins, and several others. Their Hillbilly Pop Duo friends Mercer & Johnson once told the band that nobody in this business really cares who you’ve opened for, but the management asked that this section be included anyway, so here it is.
