I used to love this song back in the mid 2000's when Scrubs was on the air.  I kind of forgot about then yesterday I remembered and decided to learn it and give it a shot.  Enjoy!

In July of 2020 my mother had a close call with a hernia that required emergency surgery.  She was in recovery quite a while and needed my help.  I brought a Shure MV51 microphone, my MacBook, and a Cort Earth 1200 so I wouldn’t be too bored - the Shure MV51 was used for vocals and a Blue snowball my mother had lying around was used on the guitar.

It didn’t come out too bad for a living room recording.  A lake house in Michigan isn’t the worst at inspiring creativity, either.

Space Oddity

I was just messing around in the studio a few hours playing with samples, effects, midi, and a couple lazy vocals…. Kind of my first attempt at electronic/synth wave/edm - I’ve since done a couple others and plan on trying some more when I have the time.

Mixing was done to this,  the Sennheiser headset is an amazing binaural microphone for the iPhone - listen in headphones for the best effect.

My all-time favorite track from the Mountain Goats, as done by yours truly.  I first heard this on Moral Orel, which was an amazingly well done (and deep) stop-motion series on Adult Swim/Cartoon Network.  The Mountain Goats had a few songs featured in episodes and it made me fall in love with their music.
