Buster Inc. is a pop project by Swedes Johan Mauritzson and Viktor Strand. It's catchy pop, mixing synths and acoustic guitars.

Johan Mauritzson is the singer and keyboard player for Swedish rockband Charizma (currently on a break), Viktor Strand is… well, Viktor.
Buster Inc’s first track ”Summertime” is released digitally in early June, with two different versions. One of them is more acoustic, and the other one has 80′s Italo disco as the main inspiration.

”Me and Viktor come from quite different musical backgrounds, but we are equal in the sense that we like to experiment with sounds. I think it’s unnecessary to decide which one is the main version of ”Summertime”, it’s up to each person to decide,” says Johan Mauritzson. ”I am the synth-guy, Viktor the acoustic guitar-guy and there’s 20 years difference in age between us. That creates something unique I think. The idea is that every song we write should work in various musical outfits, an acoustic and a synth-based. Using the same core, we create two completely different songs.”

Johan Mauritzson has previously toured with the band Charizma in Europe and the United States for over 15 years. Charizma also participated in a couple of pre-selections for the Eurovision Song Contest, in Poland and Estonia. The biggest hit in Sweden was ”Waiting here for you,” which climbed all the way to Top3 on the Swedish sales charts in 2003. Songs like ”Run to God”, ”Emily” and ”Where do you go” also saw good rotation on American and Swedish radio.

Viktor Strand has always been into music, but just recently did he dedicate himself to become a great guitar player and songwriter. He also asked Johan for some vocal classes, and out of these sessions, Buster Inc. was born.

Johan says; ”The last few years I have written new material every now and then, but I never really finished those projects. The cooperation with Viktor had me once again discover how much fun music is. I think you can hear that in ”Summertime”. Pama Records, which released the last Charizma album, heard ”Summertime” and thought it was a perfect summer hit. And here we are … ” says Johan Mauritzson. ”I don’t really have any big expectations, but there are many Charizma fans around the world who have requested new music. Maybe they will like my new project”.
