Sound Design Scenes from Gibigianna (Line and Dot Productions)

“Set amidst an array of sculptural landscapes, constructed of geometric forms made from scrap metal, mirror, nails, glass, spinning hoops and threaded wires are the remnants of one man's fragmented memories. His experiences in natural and urban environments bring these landscapes to life. The lyrical verse is spoken in English with interpolations in other languages: Norwegian, Italian, French, Swedish and Afrikaans. The recorded sound, designed and produced by Buster Grey-Jung, follows the structure of a storm transpiring. 

Gibigianna is Line and Dot Productions’ first large scale project. It is a multi-media collage which exhibits projected film, live and recorded sound, choreographed movement, physical sculptures and live text within a thirty-minute performance. The name of the piece, Gibigianna, comes from an Italian word meaning ‘the play of light reflected from mirror or water’, which encapsulates the visual aesthetics of the work.“
