Capturing the essence of the Crosstown Rebels and Robot Heart experience at Burning Man, DAVI’s selection of deep melodic odysseys for Rebellion are awash with the other-worldly magic of the Playa. A-side ‘Rebel Heart’ fuses ancient Eastern melodies with moody bass and mystical arrangements.  Second track ‘Anunnaki’ (a name denoting a group of deities in ancient Mesopotamian cultures) continues the theme of spellbinding, earthy tones and on the remix, Mark Jenkyns toughens up ‘Rebel Heart’ with a squelchy acid-flecked bassline, solid kicks and overlays of his own wonky synth structures. Last but not least the masterstroke ‘Two Suns In The Sky’ hypnotises the soul with rolling drum beats and epic chords as waves of spooky energy and polyrhythms punctuate the cosmic sunrise soundscape.

"The Rebel Heart party helped me find myself at Burning Man last year. The music was new and inspirational and I felt it deep inside of me. I was back in my studio within 2 days of returning from the desert, fired up by this new direction and I think I managed to create my own spin on this most magical experience and of course I sent it to Crosstown straight away".

Poker Flat Recordings welcomes back the ever-prolific Alex Niggemann for another speaker-troubling dispatch. This time out, the Aoen and Soulfooled boss drops a heavy-duty release that more than lives up to his usual high standards. 
'Materium' is epic in every sense of the word- a sprawling, tough journey into analog techno – with a dash of house thrown in. It rips through the speakers - the crisp and aggressive production provides the space for growling synths and atmospheric, tense pads. What’s more, the whole track audaciously dissolves into silence mid way through - before exploding back into life via a descending analog synth line. 
'Primary' is no less dramatic, but opts for a dubbier vibe as it builds and releases the ever-present tension. It’s hard, moody, electronic funk for after-hours basements and warehouses. 
Digital customers will also be able to pick up 'Bee' - which leans more to the house side of the fence with a playful, highly infectious groove and enough propulsion to move even the most tired of dance-floors.

German producer collective Township Rebellion sign a string-heavy three tracker of deeply blissful tech house collectively titled Aviation.

Dolores kicks in with an immense groove, setting up a grandiose backdrop from the get go. Scintillating synths and spacious arrangements send the track into euphoric heights, while the punchy bassline triggers instant movement.

Lumen bears a melancholic loveliness, revealing a rumbling bass and soft, airy pads. What intensifies the mood, however, is a haunting chord progression paired with a fittingly ghostly vocal, giving the track a new dimension.

Next Life consists of a back and forth dynamic piece, making use of the 1993 classic spoken word vocal-poem “Get Up”. Its upbeat and looming style adds a sense of impending doom, amping the track’s dance appeal.

Incorporating a delectable “huh” and graceful piano, Claude VonStroke has excelled with his interpretation of
An Evidence of Time. Animating the original with an emphatic bassline and unyielding timbres, whilst paying
homage to the original with the mid-way breakdown. Audiofly have reconstructed Radian with their discernible
sound. Their remix strips down the original, migrating through hypnotic synthesis, steadily building then fading
to silence. Keeping the original kick a prominent feature, Tim Green ’s rendition of the title track Baobab shines
through. A hearty techno beat forms the basis of the minimalistic roller.
Dirtybird founder Claude VonStroke has had an incredible year with his longstanding label receiving Mixmag’s
Label of the Decade award back in July. Aside from touring the globe, Audiofly recently claimed they were
“ exactly where we want to be as djs and performers ” when the duo made their debut appearance at Burning
Man this year.
