[ The "puzzle" sends Scutum flying towards the ceiling. ]
[ In reality, it's literally just an extremely simple maze. ]
Scu: Go...ahead! Do your...worst...
[ Scutum falls back on the ground, which crushes Irini and plays the splat sound from Deltarune ]

This is the 15th track of "The Fools are Late!!!" for "An Alternate Megamix II", an AU with my OCs that is meant to be an "alternate" to An Artist's Megamix, the only track which exists of that so far is CHROMAMANIA though.

The Syzygy, Sola and Lunir's chief underlings, take the role of Monster Kid. While I made the sprites (Scutum, Seirius, Irini from left to right), they are practically entirely the concept of @thestrangepentadecagon. You'll encounter them quite frequently throughout the Chateau, mostly goofing around and not...actually really doing their job of capturing you. Well, Scutum and Seirius are TRYING but they aren't very successful.

Actual chapter 3 content beyond, like, Tenna?! Preposterous! The Far Lands, a terrain generation quirk in Minecraft from pre-beta 1.8, replaces the Ice Palace here. It is accessed by bridging with barrier blocks off what is seemingly a chunk error.
The Far Lands do have more difficult enemies, but most notably they also have the "Flame Magician", which is required to burn some enemies to a crisp.

The Flame Magician of course represents Pyroscythe, who is at the center of Alphabright's Weird Route (despite replacing Toriel, he has a far more Noelle-esque position in the narrative. This may raise a clue as to who is the roaring knight here), and said route involves making him burn everything to a crisp.
There's also a lesser "weird route" with the actual noelle counterpart in chapter 2, but they can be done separately.

Ivr: i will find out what secrets lie beyond this jail myself.
Vi: Ivory, don't! You don't...you won't...
Vi: You won't find anything b-bad there! I promise...I...
Ivr: then why are you hesitating so much?
Ivr: ...
Ivr: hm. well, if everyone thinks my hands have that cat maid's blood...
Ivr: then why not show them what that REALLY looks like?
Vi: You're not going to...
Vi: I just- I don't want you getting hurt...from your...
Vi: Your magic, and, and-
[ Ivory pulls out her scythes. ]
Vi: Wait, wait, wait, wait!
Ivr: it's the only way.
Ivr: if a criminal is what they want...
Ivr: a criminal is what they will get.
Vi: Stop!!!

Vi essentially got forced into serving the ruler of the Study Dark World, and as the heroes get to the end of the Archives (the Scarlet Forest), things start to go horribly, horribly wrong.
Ivory, still not seeing the Dark Worlds as entirely real and already being in an unstable mental state, finally snaps under the pressure. 
Things won't go well from here on out.

With whitepine 7's thumbnail this will either age like milk or like wine in one day, because i made the song and thumbnail long before it LOL

The Sword Route here is the Mine Route. It's exactly what you think it is. I made this track specifically because of the connection.
It's a lot more linear than minecraft's base game actually is though, having a "World Border" calling back to the old BTWB.
You have to find chainmail gear in a village to progress, and by "progress" we mean "crash the game". Doing so will net a number of barrier blocks...

yes that's Ivory projecting here. kind of.

Ivory uses blood magic. This is a pre-episode 7 concept, mind you (where she is covered in the stuff) but it's very fitting thematically nonetheless. Said blood magic goes absolutely haywire if she suffers intense emotions, like what we see here. It's also cast from hitpoints, so her HP slowly decreases as the fight goes on regardless of if you get hit or not by Vi's attacks.
Serapter's soul (which is star-shaped, obviously), meanwhile, is somewhat tied to what he sees, hears and feels in general (Serapter thinks of the player as more a helpful guide and advisor than a terrifying eldritch puppeteer, which means Chapter 4 will be handled quite interestingly, stay tuned for that. And also stay tuned for the weird route stuff) so he sees Ivory lashing out like this. It's not pretty.

About time this account got a track for what it's named after, yeah? Behind the World Border is back (and may be better than ever!)

This is sort of meant to reference the Achroma track "Among the Stars" (that au probably won't continue beyond a few tracks like maybe the clownpierce Spear of Justice, or the Detective's You Idiot/YBN or something), seeing the payoff for it...
In any case, this is Scott (Smajor)'s It's Raining Somewhere Else, which frankly is long overdue. The BDubs "hangout" (which is actually with team BEST) is actually merged with the actual UT's Alphys date.

Hopefully I'll be able to make more, but I've been suffering from a LOT of music block :(

[Behind the World Border] Elsewhere, Stars are Shining

This plays in the first part of Meroxia's AFOW Season 2 finale, and is probably the most well-known track from this series besides Harmony (see below).

While Darth Platypus, then Blackwood Mapping, was working on Marble Siege 4, he made a possible sequel to Chromamania, known as Death by Chroma, as well as a few other tracks (most notably Harmony, Navy and Olive's overworld theme in An Artist's Megamix) for use in Meroxia's Alternate Future of the World in late 2017. Contemporary opinions on said AFOW were quite mixed, as part of a number of series trying to imitate the then fairly well-received AFOW: Reimagined.
In my honest opinion the best of these imitator series was one called Imperia, which had multiple endings and also used a variation of Chromamania (though composed by someone else) in its "worst" ending. Not spoiling what it is, duh, go search it up.

Back in the early days of the AAM fandom, many people associated this theme with Oliver. Don't really know why, but there you go. Also, I swear that one Hearts of Iron 4 mod references this mapping series.

Felt like releasing something new for the An Artist Megamix/Chromamania Megalocycle. All of the 'Earthbound' related things are mapping series, 'Homestuck' is Algodoo/Marble Siege-related and Undertale should be obvious. My music block is finally coming to an end! :D
