A track that means a lot to you and, if you feel like sharing, why: Wilson Tanner - 69: This is an album that follows me through the years and I'll always cherish those beautiful ambient tracks. I come from the countryside, and these are sounds that remind me of nature and a slower pace of life, which I often miss. I have also listened to it with loved ones: more than a personal pleasure, it is a vector of emotion, little proofs of love.

Influences:
I used to play techno, but the more I got into DJing the more I got into exploring genres. After my fellow Blvshie Hripsime introduced me to breakbeat, my bass journey began. I realized it kinda makes sense, since I am originally a bass player. And since I even more originally wanted to play drums, it also makes sense that I am more and more into percussions and overall non 4/4 rhythms.

Affiliations/Residencies/Projects: I am a member of the BLVSH Collective (@blvsh_collective on SC) - Berlin based collective created for the exposure, peer support, and promotion of new female, non-binary, trans, intersex, agender, and gender-queer talents. Through our work we contribute to a much needed increase in the visibility of marginalized genders and their blossoming in a still cis male dominated music scene. BLVSH holds a residency at the Refuge Worldwide radio, organizes monthly open decks, DJ workshops, parties, and talks. We also have two compilations of tracks from various artists under our belt, and a third one is on its way. The compilations can be purchased on our Bandcamp, all proceeds go to selected charities.

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:
Don't focus on perfection, don't wait to play in front of people or publish your tracks until you think you are good enough. Learn by doing, play & make the music you enjoy and try to have fun. Track selection is more important than amazing transitions when you're djing. Most people will not notice your mistakes, they will enjoy the music :)

Over the coming weeks, we'll be talking to different artists who are co-curating the 2024 edition of the festival. We dive into their creative process and explore their inspirations, all in honest conversations straight from the heart.

We’re very happy to share a new podcast episode, this time with Mama Snake and Martinou who open up about their upcoming and debut b2b set at our Aura next week. 

Though you might notice some contrast in their musical output, their connection to the hypnotic Nordic sound unites them, with both seeking those spine-tingling moments in music. They share personal stories about their close bond with the Draaimolen and Nous'klaer Audio teams, and how the festival's atmosphere will shape their performance. 

There were a few audio glitches, but the conversation was too heartfelt to cut.

The host of this podcast is Chanel Kadir, Draaimolen’s external PR officer who has been working with the team since 2023. Outside of that, she works across many different creative platforms within the music sphere including editorial-led platforms such as Untitled 909 and wav.world. She's also the co-curator of the F1-focused mix series G-FORCE and host of radio residencies across Netil Radio and Refuge Worldwide.

This podcast is edited and composed by Tilburg music producer Ramses3000, also known as multidisciplinary artist Yannick Verhoeven. Incorporating ambient, jazz, new age and psychedelic music, the classical and digital worlds meet in Yannick's sonic world. He has recently released his new album 'Thalamus' on Intercept Records, for which he spent three months in a monastery with the aim of composing music that helps the listener to relax and process the stimuli of everyday life.
