“BAILES VALSTĪS”, una obra poliédrica muy especial. 

En primer lugar, partiendo de su propio imaginario respecto a Letonia, un país que nunca han visitado, se compone una canción con letra en ese idioma. Segundo, se fabrica una edición limitada y numerada de CD-singles cuyas portadas han sido intervenidas manualmente una a una. Y en tercer lugar, se completa la acción desplazándose a la propia Letonia donde se liberarán todas las copias “abandonándolas” en diferentes lugares elegidos a lo largo del mes de septiembre. 

SLOVENSKA TELEVIZA espera con esta intervención que un viaje no sirva sólo para que el país visitado marque su impronta en ellos, sino dejar a cambio una pequeña huella allí.

“Bailes Valstīs” is a very special and polyhedral work developed for band’s official presentation. 

First, from his own imaginary regard to Latvia, a country they’ve never visited, a song is composed with lyrics in Latvian language. Second, they make a limited and numbered CD-single edition with cover art manually intervented one by one. And thirdly, action moves to Latvia where the artists will wild-release the copies, abandoning all of them in different locations chosen throughout the month of September. 

With this artistic intervention in a local context they expect to achieve that a trip does not only serve the country visited to mark an indelible imprint on them, but to leave a humble footprint in the country.

group A started in Japan in 2012 by Tommi Tokyo (synthesizers, electronic rhythms, vocals) and Sayaka Botanic (violin, tapes, voice). 

Since the beginning this project has been developing a very unique sound and image blending performance art and DIY post-punk. Their music could be described as a clash between UK industrial and Japanese underground from 70s and early 80s. Their shows are very conceptual and stagey with the use of looped projections and original outfits.

“Group A have been playing their mix of spiky noise, no wave minimalism and sinister cabaret on the road for the last four years. It’s taken them from Tokyo to London and their present home in Berlin.” Wire Magazine, July 2016.

After some releases on digital format, cassettes and self produced CDs, including a 2-track collaboration with Tom Furse (The Horrors), their last album “70 + a =“ is finally pressed on vinyl. A deluxe edition with fine black paper silk-screened jacket, insert printed on black and tracing paper and one sticker.

Premiere #91 Futuro De Hierro - Las fuerzas grises (nos estan rodeando) [Gooiland 41]

B.F.E. Records and Subsist Records jointly release the debut EP of Belgian producer Bambi OFS (Cédric Dambrain), a multidisciplinary artist with a musical concept motivated by an exploration of the thresholds of perception, psychoacoustics and the physiological impact of sound.

This diversity of themes is matched by his wide range of production styles, which include electroacoustic computer music, compositions for ensembles, noise, sound installations and, more recently, club-oriented polyrythmic explorations. Dambrain has also been composing extensively for performance artists and music theatre.

Spanning four tracks of intricate and ever-shifting rythmic progressions, YAKKA frames a tense and glittering ethnofictional world, combining kaleidoscopic percussive textures with a precisely economical aesthetic.

Extending on Cédric’s exploration of sound.space.perception as a unified phenomenon in his sound installations and noise projects, the record artwork features a photography shot by ethnomusicologist Judith Becker during a Bebuten ceremony in Bali: the picture evokes her inquiry in the trance phenomenon, in which she demonstrates that our ability to enjoy trance and its healing virtues is inversely proportional to our sense of separatedness from the rest of the world. Meshing together numerous influences, and reflecting on the self/other dichotomy, YAKKA is a playful invitation to reconsider our identification processes.
