Jimmy's Jam (Okapi Remix) by John Borse (True Vinyl Radio)

The Okapi remix is based on John Borse's interpretation of "Jimmy's Jam” as the struggle to remain true to oneself in our chaotic world -- a world presenting us with doubts, uncertainty and (hopefully) moments of clarity. With that perspective in mind, the remix features a string section which is being pulled in different directions -- sometimes out of tune, sometimes of tune, sometimes just right -- against James' persistent, strong and grounded bass. Tracy’s vocal are the words of wisdom within the struggle. Why Okapi? During the time Borse was working on the remix it just so happened that he made four zoo visits in different cities with his youngest son and the Okapi caught their fascination. The Okapi itself seems to represent an identity struggle — is it a zebra?, is it a giraffe?
