A few months ago, Christopher Willits invited his Drip community (http://www.drip.com/willits) to make remixes of his track CLEAR, out of his great album OPENING. Some other producers and I got a chance to work with some amazing sounds of his and here is what I came up with. For this track, the pads were created first - everything else was built around them. Once they were initially laid out, the rest of the track came together in a comfortable fashion. Thank you to everyone who has given me feedback, especially the first few listeners.

Naive

Motifs is another step in my exploration of the contrast between ambient sound design and minimal percussive elements. I built the track around the melodic synth line and tried to give it more energy and drive than previous tracks. Thanks to everyone who helped me put this together.

Motifs

I played a slightly different version of this mix for NYE and the whole time I was thinking it'd work better as something people can zone in on with their headphones so here it is. It travels through time from the electronic pioneers Aphex Twin and Daft Punk, to more recent tone masters such as Jon Hopkins and Tycho. All stuff I've been enjoying over the past couple years.
