Byron Alvarado is a DJ, Producer and one of the representatives of the powerful Industrial Techno sound in Costa Rica. Byron has released on prestigious labels such as: NECHTO, PURE HATE 000, VAGUE, WINKED, Denso Records. He is  also a professor at the DJ academy DJLab and co-founder of the TMPL collective, in which they have had the opportunity to have renowned international artists seeking to strengthen a community of hard and industrial styles.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: What about your first DJ gig - how was it?
𝘽𝙔𝙍𝙊𝙉: Because I was still in my teens, I couldn't play in clubs, so I had to wait until the beginning of 2021 where I received the proposal from Partícula de Dios (who today is my partner in our label TMPL) for a multidisciplinary event where I met great artists that we still keep in touch. First times are never forgotten.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: What kind of emotions do you convey with your productions and what emotions would you like to evoke in the listener?
𝘽𝙔𝙍𝙊𝙉: I feel that I convey something very ambiguous, I like too much to create strange atmospheres, most of the time happy but I also love deep and hypnotic nuances that make people feel that they are listening to something uncommon. At some point I got some advice from Adam Collins (who is one of my mentors) telling me ''keep making those weird sounds'' and I think it has worked well for me :)

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: What singularities does the techno scene convey?
𝘽𝙔𝙍𝙊𝙉: We are growing, each time new musical genres are being incorporated to the scene which helps to break paradigms and personally I am excited to see the desire that new talents bring to take the job professionally.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: 3 things you like most about Costa Rica.
𝘽𝙔𝙍𝙊𝙉: Rainy season, nature and landscapes

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: What will happen in the near future in your music career?
𝘽𝙔𝙍𝙊𝙉: I want to focus more time on producing music and having big releases on 2025.

In his career, Byron Alvarado has released on renowned labels such as: BPitch, NECHTO, PURE HATE 000, LABORATORIUM Records, Be Techno, WINKED, Denso Records, Set of the Day, COOLKIDZ, among others.

Co-creator of the TMPL project with Jimena Rueda, Melina Blanco and Partícula de Dios, he has managed to consolidate not only a series of party concepts gravitating around Techno and Hard Style, but also an important portfolio of local, regional and international bookings with artists such as Rikhter, Métaraph, Paula Velez, Vendex, Fiedel, Héctor Oaks, Daria Kolosova. 

In 2021, Byron Alvarado participated in episode #10 of Scary Beautiful, a project developed and supported by the renowned Ukrainian DJ Nastia, with his track Cordon de Plata, a track that is part of the LP series of the NECHTO label NECH016.

He had the opportunity to make an official remix for the track ''Julian'' by Greek producer Die Arkitekt with the vocals of the legendary Lena Platonos.

His tracks have been supported by artists such as Richie Hawtin, Nastia, Ayako Mori, Daria Kolosova, Metaraph, Imogen, among others.

He has been featured on radio shows in Spain such as Who Electronic Radio and has also been invited to international podcasts by the following labels: VESELKA, Snatchers, Wanderlust, Tech Clubbers, Living Techno, LABORATORIUM, DECIBELS, WINKED, Set of the Day, 6eme Sens, Under Oath, among others.

In 2022, he debuts as an instructor of DJLab's Professional DJ Course, a role he has managed to consolidate thanks to his great charisma and dedication when it comes to accompanying the new talents that come through DJLab.

He has made a name for himself in the regional scene where in 2024 he makes his debut in Bogota at the renowned club Radio Berlin.

In charge of making alliance with the Berlin label BCCO to carry out the first showcase of the brand in Costa Rica with TMPL.
