You will never hear the first version of this EP and Beshken has some Roman thieves to thank for that. Last summer, while waiting for the train to Florence at Rome’s Termini station, Ben’s backpack, containing his laptop, hard drive, lyrics journal, and wallet, was stolen. After losing over 5 years worth of music and concurrently in a long distance relationship, Ben began to write For Time Is The Longest Distance Between Two People. Working mainly with field recorded sounds from Florence, Tel Aviv, Big Sur, and New York, Beshken contorts worldly sounds into rhythmic entities. The project explores growth that crystallizes over time after a work is unwillingly surrendered.
