I wrote this song as I was coming out of a particularly difficult period of mental funk in my life. It was a time when I felt the whole world was against me. My breakthrough came when it dawned on me that real life happens in the fight, on the journey, and not at the destination.

All Is Well

This song is about a musician friend I have that claimed he would never settle down. He was so adamant about this fact that we used to tease him about it. Turns out, of everyone in our social circle, he ended up falling the hardest when he met the right girl.

Crazy

A true story of two young lovers who must spend the first year of their relationship living across state lines, six hours apart from each other. Only getting to see one another every few weeks – the anticipation they feel grows stronger and stronger as they travel the long dark roads between each other’s houses.

Feel Your Breath

This song was written after catching up with an old girlfriend online. We spent a few days messaging back and forth when I realized we had inadvertently moved beyond surface-level chit chat. Suddenly, I was 17 again and ready to go wherever she lead.

Take Me With You

This song was written after a rash of suicides by fathers in my local town. The stories of the families left behind were heartbreaking. One girl was on homecoming court the very next week – an event where she had to watch the other girls being escorted by their fathers. I wanted to write this song to tell the story from the perspective of a surviving child.

My Angel

This song is about naysayers. Whenever you set out to do something great, there will be those that do not want to see you succeed. Maybe they are jealous. Maybe they think they are protecting you from something. Whatever the reason is, if it goes against what you know to be true, then follow your own path. To everyone out there pursuing a dream - this song is for you.

I wrote this song to express how I felt when I finally found that special someone who makes me a better person just by knowing her. She encourages me to be my best self even when I don’t believe I have it in me - never preachy, just living by example.

Like Heaven

This song is about a deep infatuation relationship I had where it was all encompassing – especially at the beginning. After a short time, I was convinced that I could not live without this girl. It’s scary when you get to that point – to realize how much power your partner has to make or break your world with their actions.
