The forthcoming LP from Delta9 Recordings presents everything the label has endeavoured to construct since they first began releasing music. Based between two of Europe’s most creative hubs, the label has stretched its roots from Berlin and Bergamo, in Italy, to draw out a host of inspirations. It’s dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds have filtered across subs within their biggest club spaces, helping to promote the drum & bass culture in Northern Italy and demonstrating its contribution to the worldwide scene. 

This tune channels that same ethos, combining the creativity of newcomer Stoner with the experience of Dottor Poison to craft a relentless roller.

OPTIV is a name firmly embedded in both the forefront and deep memory of any true fan of drum & bass. He emerged into the scene with the seminal Cause4Concern sound, which made an enduring mark that influenced many of today’s great artists, including Noisia, and helped to mould the tech aesthetic that we –know today. The Optiv moniker erupted into existence a few years after the establishment of Cause4Concern, with the founding of his own label Red Light Records in 2002, an imprint that continues to be influential in both launching the careers of promising artists such as Inward, Hanzo & Randie, Impak as well as putting out high quality audio from established artists such as Tobax, Telekinesis, The Upbeats and Black Sun Empire. This is in addition to running the pioneering C4C Recordings imprint, that’s been committed to pushing forward-thinking tech for close to two decades now.
Over the course of Optiv’s prolific and long-running solo career, he’s released on a significant range of labels, including leading taste-makers such as Virus, Playaz, Blackout, Subtitles, Eatbrain, Hospital, Shogun Audio, Invisible and Dispatch to name just a few. His commitment to a pure analogue sound, inspired by his techno and electro roots, in combination with a stripped aesthetic that requires audio purity, has ensured that his sound remains both timeless and ahead of the pack. BYTECODE is a dynamic and versatile Drum & Bass producer who constantly seeks to push boundaries and consistently deliver subsonic weapons with mathematical and surgical precision.

Even though BYTECODE emerged in late 2018, you should make no mistake, as he is no stranger to the Drum & Bass scene. He has been producing for more than a decade under different pseudonyms where TOMTEK was his latest endeavour. Furthermore, he is a vital member of the highly successful and critically acclaimed Drum & Bass group, INSTINKT.

It is evident that BYTECODE is a force to be reckoned with, and that he will continue to evolve with a constant focus on producing quality music for the dance floors.
