NUMBERS_SCREAM!

Dropset and Gingersnap summon the longest night with Paralysis, a track forged in the stillness of the Winter Solstice, when time feels suspended and the world holds its breath. It opens beneath a frozen sky where haunting pads drift like cold mist across the ground, while ethereal vocals hover in the air, distant and weightless. Faded drumbeats pulse faintly below, echoing like a slowed heartbeat in the dark.

Then the countdown begins. 4… 3… 2… 1…
The moment arrives, and the spell is sealed.

The track snaps into motion as a rolling wave of neurofunk surges forward. Deep reese bass drives relentlessly, heavy and hypnotic, pulling the listener deeper into the night. Eerie, glacial synths stalk alongside the bassline, their cold tones weaving tension through every bar. Beneath it all, razor-sharp, technical drumwork fractures and reforms with precision, keeping the ground unstable and the mind alert.

Paralysis captures the solstice threshold, where darkness reaches its peak and motion returns. Frozen, relentless, and alive with pressure, it is a soundtrack for the longest night, when everything stops… and then moves all at once.

We begin at the dawn of time, before the formation of stars and celestial bodies, before all matter existed as an intensely hot homogeneous soup. Starting at the point from which the initial singularity erupted, setting the path of the Universe as we know it and in the process forging a twin universe to our own. A parallel mirror universe to which this leading neurofunk label have ripped open a portal…

The forthcoming LP from Delta9 Recordings presents everything the label has endeavoured to construct since they first began releasing music. Based between two of Europe’s most creative hubs, the label has stretched its roots from Berlin and Bergamo, in Italy, to draw out a host of inspirations. It’s dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds have filtered across subs within their biggest club spaces, helping to promote the drum & bass culture in Northern Italy and demonstrating its contribution to the worldwide scene. 

This tune channels that same ethos, combining the creativity of newcomer Stoner with the experience of Dottor Poison to craft a relentless roller.

The second part of Mean Teeth’s highly anticipated album ‘Bring Back the Funk’ is ready to drop, released through the expansive platform of Cause4Concern. Having already unleashed the first edition last year on one of the most ground-breaking labels within drum & bass, the Estonian and Lithuanian pair are almost just as revered for their game-changing cuts. They come with the type of tracks which have slowly began to dominate the further reaches of a genre spearheaded by technical prowess and sonics which have their roots planted decades deep. Mean Teeth not only show their knowledge of modern-day techniques, but also the elements of ‘funk’ which they bring through their tracks helping them rise to prominence. It’s one of the many reasons why they’ve become a favourite of fans and DJs alike, reflected through the next stage leading to their forthcoming album’s release.

The term “bytecode” is defined as a set of computer instructions. A set of instructions that can be executed efficiently to solve specific problems using advanced algorithms with mathematical precision.

BYTECODE is a dynamic and versatile Drum & Bass producer who constantly seeks to push boundaries and consistently deliver subsonic weapons with mathematical and surgical precision.

Even though BYTECODE emerged in late 2018, you should make no mistake, as he is no stranger to the Drum & Bass scene. He has been producing for more than a decade under different pseudonyms where TOMTEK was his latest endeavour. Furthermore, he is a vital member of the highly successful and critically acclaimed Drum & Bass group, INSTINKT.

It is evident that BYTECODE is a force to be reckoned with, and that he will continue to evolve with a constant focus on producing quality music for the dance floors.
