Lael Neale  ist ein echtes Landei. Aufgewachsen ist sie nämlich auf einer Farm in Virginia, irgendwo im Nirgendwo, umgeben von Feldern und Wäldern. Dort waren es vor allem naturverbundene Schriftsteller*innen wie Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Steinbeck und Mary Oliver, die die Singer-Songwriterin früh beeinflusst haben. Das Kontrastprogramm zum idyllischen Landleben erfuhr Lael Neale dann ab 2009, als sie nach Kalifornien zog, wo sie bis 2020 im Moloch Los Angeles lebte.

Vor einigen Jahren zog die Musikerin wieder zurück auf die Farm ihrer Eltern, wo sie offenbar die Inspiration fand, die sie so lange gesucht hatte. Denn hier schrieb sie unentwegt Song, die schließlich auf ihrem Debütalbum „Acquainted With Night" (2021) und auf dem Nachfolger „Star Eaters Delight“ veröffentlicht wurden, der im April dieses Jahres erschienen ist. „Die ununterbrochene Stille auf der Farm zwang mich, sie mit Klang zu durchbrechen. Dieses Album ist lauter und äußerlicher, es ruft in die Welt hinaus“, sagt Lael Neale über den Einfluss der Umgebung auf ihre Dreampop-Folk-Songs. 

Von genau diesem Album spielte sie bei ihrem Besuch im ByteFM Magazin mit Friederike Herr am 23. Mai 2023 den Song "No Holds Barred".

nobody could do it but Lirico. 

if you are having a hard time and don't want to listen to happy songs, this CD is made for you.  there are no messages here, all 15 songs are very personal and special, and will gently carry you through your sadness.
