Belfast brothers Cocktail Cool are a dynamic DJ & Producer duo composed of Timmy & Scott. With a shared passion for music, Cocktail Cool have started to make waves in the electronic music scene over the past few years.

From a young age, music was more than just a hobby for these brothers - it was a dream they aspired to fulfill together. Cocktail Cool’s sound is a seamless blend of genres, drawing inspiration from Chicago House, early 2000s UK Tech House, and Rominimal techno. Their music is deeply influenced by renowned DJs and producers such as Daft Punk, Kerri Chandler, Apollonia, Terry Francis, Raresh, Layo & Bushwacka, Ricardo Villalobos, J Dilla, Pete Rock, and A Tribe Called Quest, among many others.

Cocktail Cool has an impressive portfolio of releases on several esteemed labels, including Whoyostro, Conceptual, Hustler Trax, Purism, Street Tracks, CHIWAX, and Snake Beat. Each release has garnered significant attention from the previous, further establishing their presence in the industry.

Their energetic DJ performances and unique sound have quickly gained them a following, culminating in a strings of high profile gigs across their hometown of Belfast. Utrecht duo Fouk (@justsayfouk) have emerged from the new wave of Dutch house and disco artists like Detroit Swindle and Nachtbraker, in no small part thanks to the former’s Heist Recordings. Through there and other avenues like their own @Outplay label, House Of Disco Recordings and Razor-N-Tape Reserve, they have pushed their patchwork of grooves with great success over the last couple of years. With a knack for crafting infectious keys solos and sourcing the most pleasing of analog synth sounds, they have made themselves known for an assured, highly musical sound.

*How would you describe your sound?*

Warm house music with a lot of soul and funk. We aim to make people smile with our music. :)

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?*

The dreaded question! In general jazz, funk and disco from the ‘70s / ‘80s. It’s always hard to give a specific answer to this. But our tastes are pretty varied and we can get inspired by good art, great nights out playing and fun with friends; relaxation and fun feeds creativity. Also we get inspired by others in the genre of course — it’s inevitable! 

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

It’s mainly music we made this year, sort of an end of year compilation. Also a couple of unreleased tracks from us. There’s a lot of new stuff coming up next year, but wasn’t ready to share with you just yet ;)

Harold Matthews Jr featuring Symone Davis - One Body (Urban Sound Lab Remix)

London-based producer ‘Urban Sound Lab’, aka Curtis Kirkland, uplifts Harold Matthew Jr’s “One Body” with this spectacular classic remix. 

Featuring guest keyboards and flute from the incredible Kaidi Tatham - an USL regular - the instrumentalist’s flavours compliment Curtis’ solid backing groove perfectly. 

This delightful combination takes Big Ed and Symone’s dreamy vocals to new heights.

On “Toni’s Dub Remix” we see Reel People’s Toni Economides dubbing out the USL mix elements into a soaring journey - incorporating minimal vocal FX, phasing flutes, and Kaidi’s jazzy Rhodes notes.
