Криво Садовско Хоро (Krivo Sadovsko Horo) is a traditional folkdance that comes from the village of Sadovo in the Thrace region of Bulgaria.  It’s in a meter of 13/8, subdivided as 2+2+2+3+2+2.

The instrumentation I used here was inspired by classic recordings by Ahmad Zahir, “the Elvis of Afghanistan,” and the arrangement owes an incalculable debt to Jan Root and the Živio Ethnic Arts Ensemble.
