SAFE PLACE is a collection of rehearsal recordings, original texts, additional synths, awkward beats, and clashing voices.

Drawing inspiration from works such as "The Waste Land" by T.S. Eliot, "The Dead Man and the Resurrection" by Nikos Gabriel Pentzikis, "Lazarus and His Beloved" by Khalil Gibran, Tarkovsky’s "Stalker", "He" by Eleonora Stathopoulou, and others, we compose new texts—“prayers.”

To engage.
To be held.
By something.
To construct.
Something.
That brings us Joy.

SAFE PLACE

"Poet" is an experiment I did starting from a simple chord sequence and trying to detune with 1/4 tones and deconstruct with glissandos. Lyrics come from the poem "Ο ποιητής"/"The poet" my Miltos Sahtouris.

Leitourgima is an experimental vocal/trumpet solo piece. The performer is holding a trumpet which is connected to a trumpet clip microphone. The signal is distorted by a guitar overdrive fx. Trumpet is being used mainly as a microphone, the performer is reading a poem which is gradually deconstructed leading to a vocal solo. The vocal performance is accompanied by prerecorded material.
