Prior to the release of Deepchord’s 3rd full length on Soma, we are pleased to deliver yet another exclusive, limited edition picture disc in the form of 3 track ambient piece, “De Wallen”. This specially crafted EP is strictly limited to one vinyl only run and features photography by Rod Modell himself. 

De Wallen's layers of deep, swirling, metaphysical atmosphere and processed recordings of the area that it is named after, provide a sonic-photograph of Amsterdam's red-light district at 3am. Possibly the only soundtrack ever composed for this area. Otherworldly, and charged with a deep frenetic energy, this music presents an inter-dimensional portal into darker realms. Electromagnetic radiation etched into a piece of vinyl for phonographic dispersion. This is a unusual piece of "sound art" rather than merely electronic music, and has little (or nothing) to do with dance music's frivolity. Side B of this release reflects De Wallen's "sound art" aesthetic. "Prayer Wheel" is a generative-music life form (inspired by the night-sky and seaside) that expands, contracts, and mutates like a living organism. "Range Lights" is a luminescent sonic artefact, recently unearthed after years of being buried. The analog warmth and imperfections inherent of the vinyl format further the surreal nature of these artworks in a way that no digital format could reproduce. A new paradigm in "sound art". Immersive, shimmering, electro-mystical atmospheres that the adventurous sonic-traveller will find themselves often revisiting.

Fuse sub-label Infuse drops the ‘Dirtdrive’ EP by Einzelkind this January, opening 2014 for the imprint with a heavy hitting two-tracker.

Einzelkind has been a driving force in the world of underground house music for nearly a decade, rising to fame through releases on Get Physical, Playhouse, Mule Electronic, Cocoon and WHITE as well as the infamous La Peña and Pressure Trax (run with Frost) imprints. Here Einzelkind joins the Infuse roster, once again bringing up-front dance floor focused grooves, following on from a string of various artist releases that kick started the label.

Title track ‘Dirtdrive’ is up first, a subtly evolving, ethereal number fuelled by cavernous atmospheres, a vigorous tom-driven rhythm and an amalgamation of processed spoken word vocal licks. While the latter stages introduce an infectious resonant bass hook to further stimulate the heady, mind-bending feel of the record.

Then on the flip side we have ‘Bless’ which tips the focus towards direct 4/4 percussion, rumbling sub bass, crowd recordings, Latin speech and jazzy piano rolls. Creating another piece instilled with the distinctive Einzelkind sound, nodding to the La Peña productions and embodying a chuggy insistent groove for the peak-time hours.

Kellerkind steps up to the plate with Subzero, a slice of cavernous dub tech. Breathy vocals and sparse ethereal elements set a dreamy mood. Underlined by smooth piano chords, the vocal develops into a full fledged hymn that is both emotive and mesmerising. For his second take, the Swiss producer embarks on a techno tinged journey. Opting for distorted synths and a stomping bassline, he aptly crafts a near dungeon-like atmosphere only sweetened by a lush female vocal. Teaming up with Sven, they offer up Shakti Pan, a meeting point between tribal infused percussion and deep-set riffs. Hollowed out drums and bells chimes touch on chorus vocals and manage to create a highly immersive experience, rounding off the release on an uplifting note.

As it strides on into its 11th year, German label Kindisch is back with another of its excellent Kindisch Stories compilations, this time headed up by Dance Spirit after a fine edition from Bedouin in 2016.Christopher Mohn and Reagan Denius are Dance Spirit, a duo that has been turning out compelling electronic music on labels like Supernature, Rebellion and Akbal Music since 2014. Passionate about timbre, melody and movement, their music is sensitive stuff that makes for steamy dancefloor excursions and takes the pair behind it all over the world as residents for Flying Circus. Here they show off their selecting and sequencing skills with a 13 track offering that features five brand new tracks and eight of their own exclusive remixes from the label’s back catalogue.
Things kick off with a flurry of Dance Spirit originals: ‘Enouement’ is a tech cut with a middle eastern feel thanks to the organic string sounds and glitchy textures, then ‘Piercing the Veil’ offers a nice supple and rubbery groove to get lost in before the pair link with Robbie Akbal for ‘Moving Shapes’, a seven minute masterpiece of loose and jumbled percussion, popping percussive sounds and jostling minimal beats. It is brilliantly atmospheric and really soundtracks a unique world.
From there Dance Spirit show off their remix skills with great versions of tracks by Nick Galemore, Powell and Gab Rhome, all of which are magically musical as well as slick and groove driven: lingering pianos and sombre chords all colour the airwaves and make for an intoxicating mood that sucks you right in.
This carries on through the second half and excellent remixes of YokoO, Stavroz and LUM. It’s back to original material then with a track featuring Hana Choe that bubbles with spacey chords and dreamy vocals. The whole splendid selection closes down with a trio of delicately designed and intricately detailed cuts that are absorbing and woozy and finish this selection in style.
Both as a compilation and testament of the skill of Dance Spirit as producers, this is a fantastic statement.

The ninth edition of “Four To The Floor” is here. Diynamic Music’s very own various artist series, which is always comprised of four dancefloor oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world.

Dee Montero from Belfast delivers the opening track “Halcyon”, an emotional house track with deep strings. Number two is Diynamic regular Thyladomid with his contribution “Exit”. Up next is the dark and gloomy Techno track “Nebular” by Raxon from Dubai, and, closing off, the heavy, guitar-laden “Dark Place” by Spanish duo Lopezhouse.
