Globetrotting Texan trio Khruangbin present 'Maria También', the first single from their upcoming second album ‘Con Todo El Mundo'. Formed of Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald “DJ” Johnson on drums; Khruangbin’s sounds are rooted in the deepest waters of world music infused with classic soul, dub and psychedelia. Their 2015 debut album ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’ was heavily influenced by 60’s and 70’s Thai cassettes the band listened to on their long car journeys to rehearsal in the Texan countryside. ‘Con Todo El Mundo’ takes inspiration not just from South East Asia but similarly underdiscovered funk and soul of the Mediterranean and the Middle East, particularly Iran.

With a musical backround spanning more then three decades the multi-instrumentalist is constantly exploring unsought territories, seeking yet a new way to express himself. With a delicate fondness for traditional music from around the globe, he has great joy in wandering through different eras and collecting influences to finally combine his discoveries to this well-known signature blend. Hope this little piece of music can bring you some peace during these weird times. All my respect and recognition to the original artists Dakha Brakha for their always beautiful works (I strongly recommend you to check their music if you don't know it yet).

We are living days of big changes and uncertainty. And although I’m sure I won’t stop creating music, I hope I can continue sharing with you my harmonies, beats and feelings in the best way possible.
