CGI is proud to present the debut of 2 new duos who are experts at making their synths and sequencers sweat divine moisture.  Lyman-Alpha Forest is a new collaborative project between producers Grey People (Proper Trax, Finale Sessions) and Talk (Deconstructure).  As a duo they work to bring acid into new territories with their heavy, low-slung approach to producing melodic-and-spacious yet tight-and-focused slow-burning club-weapons.   Whether or not this is due to a stroke of compositional genius or if it is simply a side effect of the high levels of sizzurp found in the tap water in their hometown of Nashville is irrelevant, but the effect is intoxicating all the same.  
	Travel 7 hours up I-65 and you'll end up somewhere in Chicago where Afterburner spends long cold winter nights painting vivid synthesized tapestries as epic as the city's skyline.  The duo of Nicholas Reed (Windbreaker) and Travis Thatcher (Voice Of Saturn) employ an aresnal of modular and analog gear to produce lushly cinematic tracks that chug along like classic Moroder productions while simultaneously evoking the rich melodicism of Kraftwerk.  Whether you listen to them at home in the headphones or on the dancefloor in the club, these tracks will take you on a wild ride.

Beneath the still waters of Lonely Sound there lays the ruins of Howland Abbey, its 3000lb bell still hanging in the belfry, only swayed by the currents of the regular tides across the estuary, over 100 years since it was rang by the order of Carthusian monks who lived in the nearby priory. At the turn of the last century during a heavy storm the Abbey was plundered by an unknown gang of marauders, as they left on horseback carrying with them all the gold from the Abbey the sea defences around Lonely Sound were breached, flooding the Abbey, Priory and the surrounding land, the Monks ran for dry land as they watched their beloved bell tower disappear beneath the rising waters, unable to chase the thieves, cut off as the water rose around them. Some locals say these ransackers were in league with the elements, some say they had just intentionally damaged the sea defences before making their raid. Local folk-law claims that the morning bells of the Abbey can be heard ring out from beneath the murky waters of the Sound every year on the anniversary of the great storm, ringing the peel that was never rung.

“Dumpster diving know-how” consists of six tracks that operate both on acid sequences and on fairy-tale-like synthesizers. But this fairy tale is eerie, full of sound waste and disastrous prophecies. There’s room for a tribal apocalypse (“War Drums For Children”), broken acid techno (“The Most Complex Thing” recorded together with Elena Sizowa, a Belarussian DJ and producer) and some spooky yet magical synth landscapes (“Take A Deep Breath & Dive Into The Bin”). What can be heard throughout the whole mini-album is the excellent sound that is not afraid of dirt, noise and “sound waste” that the title refers to. 

Dumpster diving know-how” mini-album will be available on green vinyl and the person responsible for the perfectly matched artwork is Bartosz Zaskórski/Mchy i Porosty.that’s coming out on CGI Records from Atlanta on the 15th March.

Multiple Man - High On The Hog

Multiple Man is comprised of twin duo Chris & Sean Campion. Originally operating from Brisbane, Australia, their four track EP for Fleisch represents their first record written since Chris’s relocation to New York City. 'High On The Hog' finds Multiple Man at a disconnect. Spread between different continents and time zones, the record’s direction is a marked progression from previous sounds.

Paranoid atmospherics, sheet metal percussion and unhinged mutant sampling, the record finds the twins wallowing in the muck and the mire. The junk funk is still there but it’s bathed in machine age voodoo. This is not a record for the post-apocalypse but an end of history banger for the psycho rollerball time we live in.

Counting down every weird minute until the bombs drop, it represents a grotesque vision of end-times razorback EBM. Continuing the evolution in Multiple Man’s discography and contributing to the Berlin label’s vision, ‘High On The Hog’ throws another piece of meat into the Fleisch grinder.
