Conrad L. Clyde (born November 11) better known as C.L. Clyde is an African-American rapper/producer/engineer born & raised in Miami, Fl. C.L. Clyde grew up in the historic black neighborhood of Overtown but better known today as the "First 48 Capital". Despite growing up in one of the most notorious neighborhood in the southern United States C.L. Clyde always took to music instead of the streets. Starting at the age of 7 with the help of his father  & mother he began to develop his ear for music. "My dad was a DJ in Jamaica but came to Miami when he was around 18 and started his own audio shop in Wynwood on 36st putting radios and speakers into cars. When i got a little older i always wanted to be there i heard all type of music from roots reggae to the new trick daddy. The way the bass hit and the melody seeping threw the speakers  i knew i was gonna love this sh*t forever. On my mom side was different. She was a construction worker so on Friday nights her and her friends use to get liquor and play soul music real loud. Not knowing anything about Ottis Redding, Anita Baker, or Marvin Gaye  at the time it was their words (lyrics) that got me. I soaked all that in as a youngin..." -C.L. Clyde. Clyde began to put his own lyrics to songs and did it a way people liked and embraced. That created the confidence in him. By the time he was 10 yrs old his freestyle skills accelerated past his peers due to the fact he was an avid Eminem listener. B.G. (Hot Boyz), Trick Daddy, Dipset, 8Ball & MJG, Soulja Slim, & The Late Great Biggie Smalls were among the many artist that influenced him. Threw numerous freestyle battles he came across artist/childhood friend (Quake) who taught him the basics of producing on FL Studio. So by the age of 12 he was rapping and producing beats. Looking up to local rappers Piccalo who have had local and national success Clyde wanted to be independent. With the ambition to learn it all he found his way to T.D. (Overtown Rap Legend in his eyes) and Raw Block Records where he seen with his own eyes how you can make million dollar music in the hood. "It wasn't a lot but it was everything to us"- C.L. Clyde. Dove into mixing & engineering head first Clyde strive for the clean sound coming from his dad shop. Clyde saved up his birthday money to buy his first recording software "Sonar 4" and got to work. Starting TownHouse Records. Putting rapping aside he became the camp's main engineer but dropping tracks here & there. After a year or so Clyde had enough music to drop an underground mix-tape on datpiff. The mix-tape "Super Grind" didn't receive much notice from the online community but was good enough to gain respect from his peers and neighborhood to be established as an force to be reckoned with lyrically. Gaining minor notoriety from networking and producing for local artist Clyde felt it wasn't enough. After graduating High School he attempted to go to Full Sail University but due to high tuition cost and family issues that was out of the picture. Never giving  up he enrolled at Ai (Art Institute of Miami) for his degree in Audio Engineering. "I knew a lot before attending because i started recording on sound recorder and tape recorders before an actual studio. Guess you can say i started from the bottom" - C.L. Clyde. Constantly studying and networking his days at Ai was cut short due to loan issues. Only finishing 2 years Clyde took what he knew and ran with it. Now known to be one of the promising up & coming producers and engineers from Miami. He has now been offered 6 figure record contracts, working with artist all over the United States, and collabed with producers who as cliental such as Brisco, Trina, Billy Blue, French Montana, Ice Berg and many more...  Clyde is currently shooting and editing videos, photo shoots, producing and working on his second solo mix-tape dropping summer of 2014.
