It's Advent Day 23, it's my birthday, and it's time to get the party started in style with this brand-new and exclusive Breakbeat mix from the Drumattic Twins!

Reaching out after our call out for content for this year's Advent calendar, Nick Slater kindly offered his services and after a proper dig through his music collection, he has turned out another epic mix for us to share with you all. I was lucky enough to receive the mix a couple of days ago and after rinsing it proper, all I can say is that my senses are on fire! Music from the best label on the planet, Finger Lickin' Records, is well-represented because as you all know, that has been the home of the Drumattic Twins for so many years, but there are lots of other forgotten-about treats from around the time of when FLR was in it's pomp. Nick told me he had a massive amount of fun putting this mix together and it can be heard, loud and very clear! Have a great one, party people!

Release notes:
The word ‘classic’ gets thrown around a lot these days, but in the case of ‘Lazer’ there is no debate. Originally released back in 2006 (Vinyl only) as the B-side of the duos ‘Divine’, a collaboration with legendary House vocalist Roland Clark, which at the time had a more commercial appeal, which went on to be a huge success. But for the real Tech-Funk/Breakbeat hardcore, Lazer’ was the reach for club weapon with it’s precision beats, grinding bass-line and a hook that would still be rattling around your head way after the haze and debauchery of the previous night had worn off. 

18yrs on year on, Mark (Meat Katie) & Simon (Elite Force) have had this underground gem re-mastered and is now available for the first time in digital form. I’m sure you will agree ‘Lazer’ has stood the test of time, and now a new generation of DJ’s, ravers & clubbers can have some new memories hearing this un-sung classic for the first time.

It's 2012 everybody, so I thought I should finally put some finishing touches on a number of mashes still resting on my hard drive to get my head free for other things.

The first track is a mix of three different Hybrid tracks - the Kill City Sounds remix of Numb, the vocals of I Know and some additional sprinkles of Still Movement from the Cinematic Impact compilation (which I had to rearrange so the 3/4 rhythm would fit).

I guess a full album of combined snippets and individual tracks from all their previous songs would make for a great 20th Anniversary album in 2016...  ;-)
