When you take a look at the global impact of electronic dance music, it's impossible to ignore how important Miami has been to the growth of the scene. Whether you look at some of the city's famed nightclubs and festivals, or even just the power of Miami Music Week and Winter Music Conference alone, it's impossible to ignore this city in the Sunshine State. Beyond their parties, Miami acts as a home to a wide range of artists, one of them being Luccio.

Since first getting behind the decks, Luccio has moved crowds with his ability to pack in tunes that are dripping with emotion and plenty of power. During his run so far, he's taken the stage at an array of showcases and festivals such as Anjunabeats Worldwide 09's stop in Miami as well as Groove Cruise and the Dreamstate Satellite Series. Of course, he's also a frequent face at Treehouse Miami as well, with his promotion crew Apex Presents hosting a residency at the iconic venue. And his tastemaking talents don't stop there either, as plenty of tasty tunes from artists such as Ucros and Cespedes & K!KO have found a home on his label, Vertex Recordings.

More recently, Luccio landed his latest tune "Peace in Qroo" on Grum's Deep State Recordings. Featuring an instrumental and vocal cut, the soundscape on the track is truly sublime and shows off his unique production style - further proving that he's one to watch in the realm of progressive house. Now, Luccio is celebrating the release of the tune with a mix that highlights a flurry of his own tunes along with selections from others such as Matt Fax and Luttrell, and he found some time to answer a few burning questions we had as well.

Kick off the weekend with the collaboration that never was as UK electronic music heavyweights Hybrid and Evil Nine finally join forces (with a little help of yours truly)!

"Icicle Nails" combines Evil Nine's "Icicles" (from their sophomore 2008 album 'They Live!') and Hybrid's single "Nails" (from their latest release 'Black Halo') to turn the latter into the perfect closing track for your party night.

This is interesting.  Where I am at inside my head, 4 different scenarios.  One West Coast, One Detroit, One Tampa/Orlando, One New England.   4 various promoters, one dilemna - Too many DJ's on the same line-up, 

West Coast promoter says I got 20 minutes for you between Donald Glaude & DJ Dan.  Detroit promoter, 20 minutes between Dezi (Psycho) & Derrick Carter.  Florida promoter, 20 minutes between Icey & Rabbit In The Moon.  New England promoter, 20 minutes between Osheen & Charles Feelgood.  20 minutes. Various regions have different expectations. 

Somehow I'm gonna play 18 minutes & some seconds, and talk to the crowd for a minute.  Professional Grade A status at all times.

Flashbacks and dance tracks! For those in a hurry, here's 10 years of electronic music all rolled into one mix of 11 minutes, a giant mashup of tracks, basslines, beats and vocals. The first to spot all 56 (!) tracks wins a bag of virtual cookies!

Each minute represents one year from 2000 to 2009. I tried to keep the years separated as good as possible, tough some tracks' single and album release differ from each other, and I happily used this exploit every now and then.

Just someone who has a love for Breaks (almost all breaks but specifically Florida and Louisiana Breaks and Vocal Breaks)...Electro...Trance...Drum&Bass...Dub (the original Dub that was around the Tampa scene from the 90's and early 2000's...not the new Dub that these kids think is the shit)...Trip-Hop...E-Hop...and a few others. Was HEAVILY involved (to put it lightly...no pun intended but pun intended) in the Tampa/Orlando scene from the late 80's thru around 2007 or so...until the scene changed or was forced to change...but this shit is in my blood!!! I guess like they say...Blood in...Blood out!!! Had an iconic and well known house in South Tampa that was called "The House On Stilts"...it was the only house in the subdivision that was up on stilts like a beach house. And if you were in the scene...odds are you've swung thru at some point for one or more of the parties...Lol!!! If so...hit me up and tell me about it...I love hearing the stories because MAN O' FUCKING MAN...THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!! Best times of my life...and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat...I mean breakbeat!!!
