Kick off the weekend with the collaboration that never was as UK electronic music heavyweights Hybrid and Evil Nine finally join forces (with a little help of yours truly)!

"Icicle Nails" combines Evil Nine's "Icicles" (from their sophomore 2008 album 'They Live!') and Hybrid's single "Nails" (from their latest release 'Black Halo') to turn the latter into the perfect closing track for your party night.

Lulu Rouge's "The Sound Is The Drum" is probably be one of the finest if not *the* finest albums of 2013 with both tracks featuring Fanney Osk on vocals being my favourite, and it's hard to improve upon something you like this much. And yet, adding a little bit of that Elite Force magic (plus the usual tweaking here and there by yours truly) certainly pushes (ha!) the original track in a completely new direction while retaining its original awesomeness.

I was especially happy with how the bass line of the first and the kick drum of the latter perfectly fitted with each other.

With Hybrid's fourth studio album just around the corner, this month's mashup features the vocals of their previously released single "The Formula Of Fear" (sung by Charlotte James) layered over the rearranged Beta remix of Rektchordz' "Left Behind" to create the progressive breaks remix that was painfully absent from the original single.

Craving for the latest Monthly Mashup? How about a nice dish of Trentemøller, flavoured with some vocal herbs and bassline spices from Rennie Foster? Yes, I knew you'd like that.  :)

Ingredients include Trentemøller's "Physical Fraction" and Rennie Foster's "Devil's Water" (or its reprise, to be precise). They are both a bit bland on their own, but the latter's bassline perfectly complements the structure of "Fraction". I had to edit out several parts who clashed with the harmonics, but hopefully you shouldn't notice.

The original R&R's "It's Grim Up North" mix always felt a bit like an afterthought to me so I decided to give it a fresh spin. Unlike WTIL? it's quite a beast to properly mix with another track but I feel Tobias Lützenkirchen's "Hypnotized" really brings out the best in it.

For "What Time Is Love?" I decided to use the Primal Remix for a change since it doesn't get the love it deserves compared to the classic original Pure Trance version.

A little something I had started working on a while back. "Sonic Empire" is one of those songs you can still listen to 20 years after its release, and you can never go wrong with some additional breaks from the BSD album either.

This is actually my second mashup of The KLF's "What Time Is Love", but I was never entirely happy with the first one. This one is a mix of the classic 1988 Pure Trance version blended into Future Funk Squad's "Isolate" (Beta Remix) to add a good amount of breaks to it.

It's 2012 everybody, so I thought I should finally put some finishing touches on a number of mashes still resting on my hard drive to get my head free for other things.

The first track is a mix of three different Hybrid tracks - the Kill City Sounds remix of Numb, the vocals of I Know and some additional sprinkles of Still Movement from the Cinematic Impact compilation (which I had to rearrange so the 3/4 rhythm would fit).

I guess a full album of combined snippets and individual tracks from all their previous songs would make for a great 20th Anniversary album in 2016...  ;-)

It's back to everbody's favourite genre again this week as Texan producer Rick Tedesco meets the legendary Underworld in my latest mashup to bring you a stomping summer breaks reboot of their 2010 single "Always Loved A Film".

Not only does Rick Tedesco's "Into The Night" provide an excellent backdrop to Karl Hyde's vocals, he also deserves a special shout-out for providing me with a custom version of his track to get the most out of it.
