Cerebral Drive

Texas Recordings Underground, or TRU, is the brainchild of Gavin Guthrie, the talented Dallas based DJ/Producer "TX Connect". It' ll be focused solely on fellow artists from the gigantic state (2,5X the size of France...), "from the border of Mexico all the way up to the panhandle" with a wide-open music policy : "Anything from house, techno, acid, electro to ambient, funk, industrial, synth pop, etc. If it's good, it's good and you'll hear it." First outing there is a five tracker various artist. The track premiered features Gerard Hanson who has long been one of the electro scene's most notable talents. Suitably known as "Convextion" for the laymans, he has a real cult following among the experts under his "ERP" moniker, being one of the very few producers (you can count them on two hands) alongside The Exaltics, Stingray or Dopplereffekt  that manages to keep alive a style whose redundancy leaded to a certain decay.  Enjoy this beauty that should be out within few days !

First V/A sampler 12" on Deeptrax Records is called "Deep Series 1". After repeatedly receiving demos from likemind artists from all over the world,they found several outstanding & beautiful tracks that would fit perfectly together on a great sampler for home listening or proper DJ massacre.
Mcm aka Aleks starting off with a minimalist analogue techno groover with heavy stereo-panned disorienting spaced out sounds for losing control. That flows into a great atmospheric acid track from newcomer Lowe Ake User. Next to that and premiered here, the mysterious 1989 with a perfect groover called "Merger" in perfect Mr Fingers style ...
The B side of this EP is more focused on deep waving minimalistic house music. One half of tsempoo named Tserg already did his wonderful debut EP on Deeptrax. Together with a friend he releases music under his second alias named 'tsempoo'. The multi-talented Rich P, who will do multiple releases on Deeptrax ending the EP with a simplistic though wonderful handcrafted techno. An EP full of heavy drum rhythms, moody synth lines and ambient soundscapes throughout, where discerned dancefloors meets the chosen ones. Fruit Merchant, the newborn label child of Hidden Spheres is turning three. Releases, that is. Launched earlier this year, Tom Harris has already managed to put three different offerings together for the masses. We had the pleasure of premiering the B1 on the first EP from the label founder himself entitled "Wonders of the Rainforest". The follow up was a re-issue of the classic Earth Boys (Roy Davis Jr & Jay Juniel) release "Destination Heaven", initially out on the then defunct, but now newly revitalized Undaground Therapy Muzik.

Fruit Merchant's third offering comes from fresh-faced producer Native Cruise who's got one track released to date on YAM Records. We've got the pleasure of premiering the B1 and title track, "Calypso Spring". The dreamy chord sequence starts off the production with just a slight hint of darkness. A simple yet groovy percussion groove introduces the rhythm and then the fat sounding bass comes in, following the downward trajectory of the chords. This ditty is a slowly developing jam that really hits its stride a little past the midway point, where all of the elements start to come together. An arpeggiated mallet melody, cosmic pads and the suspenseful background theme work with the other elements to create one of the more interesting pieces on the EP. We can see this one perfectly closing out some dancefloors in the wee hours.
Make sure you keep an ear on Native Cruise. Don't catch yourself sleeping, get your pre-orders in.
