After one and a half decade and more than 390 releases, Compost Records bundles some of their finest tunes as Various Artists digital download compilation albums. 
The variety and full spectrum of Compost’s repertoire has never or rarely been presented in form of a musical genre compilation. These releases will be compiled or DJ-mixed by Compost’s artists and are available as digital downloads, except in some rare cases very very limited as 500 CDs. 
Since the remix work always played an important role for Compost, it ́s high time to give some of the best house and techno producers and remixers credit for their deluxe reworks of our repertoire! 
Rupert & Mennert did already a great job with compiling the Jazz Selection (Vol.1&2), the Downbeat Selection (Vol.1) and recently the Experimental Selection. With this first Remixes Selection, the focus is on club music, so our two dutch selectors chose nine deep remixes by the house experts Henrik Schwarz, Whignomy Bros., Llorca (Art Of Tones), Ripperton, Makossa & Megablast, Sasse, Dixon, Christian Prommer and Chopstick & Johnjon. 


Who are Rupert & Mennert?
They reside in Den Helder, The Netherlands. One of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there they send their fine radioshow into the wide world. The show is currently re-invented. The Sound of Swound ran for more then 200 shows. But it will be replaced by something even better: “Weird Pigs - not for copycats”. This will also run on www.djbroadcast.fm and www.play.fm.
Besides their love for broadcasting they produce music too. Together with Me Raabenstein they released, as Lagerfeltz, an album on Nonine Recordings, Berlin. Together with remix-work for Energie du Verre and Ensemble du Verre (Batterie Records, Hamburg) their release-roster is building. A remix on this very label is also in the making.

08 Beanfield - Tides (Ripperton Remix)

Since making a high profile debut on Christian Smiths Tronic imprint last summer with the Underground Sound Of Lisbon sampling Dust, Bart Skils has gone on to establish himself as an integral part of Tronics label roster alongside Marc Romboy, Dosem and Wehbba. This latest EP sees Skils change gear once again to deliver two more techno flavored tracks; contrasting with the tech house of Dust and the electro-trance fusion of previous release, Hold Your Horses 

Walking At My Girl is a feverously energetic cut founded on Skils rock solid percussion. Snappy, rolling beats and swinging snare fills take their place at the top of the mix while the heavy kick booms in the background to provide a foundation for tense, jittery stabs and pulsing electronic chords to add a more musical dimension and set the stage for the vocoder vocal hook to draw you in.

Observer keeps the strong percussive theme going, illuminating a tracky and linear groove of tight marching loops and heavy chugging sub-bass with a feel-good chord pattern and uplifting pads that is certain to bring smiles and raise hands on the floor. Simply arranged and subtly executed, the result is a cool underground vibe with plenty of forward momentum and party-starting moments.

Germany’s Philip Bader is a well-travelled techno producer with releases on esteemed labels like Highgrade, Saved, and now Moon Harbour.  Here he serves up three brand new deep cuts that get backed with a remix from the boss himself, Matthias Tanzmann. 

The opening track “Super Bell” is produced alongside Marius Maier, better known simply as Re.You, and over the course of 7 minutes lowers you into an ever silkier groove with fluttering snares and dusty hi hats softening the edges of the beats. Colourful xylophone like melodies rain down between a dark, heavily treated voice but the rolling up-down undulation of the bass never ceases.  

For his remix, Matthias Tanzmann injects more percussive energy, with snares and rolls panning left and right to bring even more movement to the groove. The melodic blobs are removed yet the voices remain; it’s a deft retouch that cannot fail to sweep you up. 

“Rabbit Noise” has more buffed metallic percussion and real sound snares scattered over a plump kick drum that pumps away invitingly as eerie melodies unfold up top.  They snake and weave, pulling you in this direction then that until eventually claps join the mix and add extra bite to the beats.  The icing on the cake is the breakout of a female wail toward the end, something that really makes the trip peak just when you need it to.

“Way to Mexico” is the least shadowy and sulky of the lot, rubbery kicks roll beneath a cloud of voices, yelps and yeahs and feathery percussion litters the airwaves. They make for an outdoor, carnival-sounding track that has your thoughts turning to the summer and some outdoor terrace in mid afternoon. These tracks are subtle and slow to unfold, the results, though, are never anything less than hypnotic.

Florian Gasperini messes with our brains with his latest EP and the opener&#8217;s loopy sensibilities and indecipherable vocal serve as the perfect mood setting. Add loose percussion with warped effects, and the trip has started.

The one and only Marko Nastic dubs &#8220;Static&#8221; out and adds eerie synths and some seriously moody vibes that ooze class and finesse.
