Following the release of Mugwump’s acclaimed debut- album "Unspell" in its Deluxe Edition earlier this year, and with media plaudits from the likes of Groove, Clash, SPIN, The Fader, Mixmag (Germany + UK), Nowness, Metro, Uncut, Les Inrockuptibles, Tsugi plus a recent June 2016 headlining guest appearance on BBC 6 Music, Mugwump will return on 21st October 2016 with an assorted package of mind-blowing music and an improved band line-up (drums+vox : Lukas Melville / synths+vox+machines : Geoffroy Mugwump / bass+vox : Stephane Fedele / guitar : Thomas Stadnicki) which is heading towards a big blend of influences such as (Cult Belgian 80's band)TC Matic, early Talking Heads, The Stranglers, Johnny Marr, Air, Ought, Protomartyr or a darker LCD Soundystem. Mugwump keeps on joining the dots between daring dancecuts and live post-punk/disco/indierock with the Metempsycho EP, which serves as a vehicle and playground for the new formation, showcasing re-arrangements of 2 existing album songs ("Breakdown" & "Memento lies") and the new single, « At the Front ». Sung by Geoffroy Mugwump, "At The Front" is an eerie piece of post-punk indie pop, coming with a 10 minutes- long haunted dub version. The song signals an exciting direction for Mugwump’s second album, currently in the works and penned for 2017. Radical club facelifts by Kill The DJ/Les Disques De La Mort's Ivan Smagghe/Rupert Cross, Fabrizio Mammarella (Slowmotion/International Feel) & recent Subfield signings Front De Cadeaux round- off this exciting package.

Founded by Sacha Mambo and Guillaume Des Bois, Macadam Mambo is an unpredictable label from Lyon, active for more than 7 years. This new release confirms its impeccable and eclectic taste and vision to the music - brilliant blend of cosmic krautrock, experimental rock, psychedelic road trip into the mind of Ashinoa, band project leaded by Chris Poincelot aka Abschaum. Something that could be the perfect soundtrack for a desertical road trip, or in the middle of a dark forest, or maybe while driving fast, but anyway to be listened really loud. London residing, Franco-Canadian Chloé Raunet aka C.A.R. has been immersed in the world of post-punk, cold wave and her own brand of off-kilter synth-pop since the days fronting her band Battant. Playful, machine-driven and dark, C.A.R.’s music travels between glacial electronica, post-punk and warming, introspective pop, all emanating from a self-confessed crush on too many genres.

This is the first new material to emerge from Raunet under her C.A.R. moniker since last year’s triumphant and critically acclaimed PINNED album - her first outing on Ransom Note Records. Growing with confidence and maturity with every release, her output continues to expand in both ambition and depth, exploring the outer reaches of left of centre pop.
Taking on the mantle of producer, singer, and songwriter once again, Pressure Drop sees her delve deeper into the shimmering, layered world of synth-laden, shoegaze electronics she’s been hinting at on previous outings

We’ve kept the remix action short but sweet this time around - i.e. not 14 remixes of one record.
Uber remixer extraordinaire Suzanne Kraft re-treats Raunet’s vocals, twisting the track into a brooding, bubbling, late-night, dance floor thing of beauty.

“Stop my heart it runs ahead, like a dog it barks, roll over, play dead.”

Second original track on the EP ‘Suture’ sees her explore the further depths of Raunet’s soul, refining her palette with glimmering, claustrophobic electronics.

This new material - packed with intricate left turns and tiny details flickering away at the edge of hearing - has been mixed by Daniel Avery collaborator Ghost Culture and mastered by Keith ‘Radioactive Man’ Tenniswood

He dragged his feet along the ground, kicking up the stones underfoot. It wasn't the outcome he'd hoped for, he thought he'd come out on top. For weeks he'd been planning how to win her over and sweep her off her feet. But it was too little too late. He'd waited too long and now she'd slipped through his fingers. He wished he had somebody else to blame...

In all the excitement of announcing C.A.R.'s second album on Ransom Note Records, we overlooked the incredible remix of 'Sore Loser' from Manie Sans Délire's Trenton Chase. Stripping back most of the vocals, he morphs the track into a hypnotic wave cut, propped up by driving synth lines. Crossing Prior Street will be released on 27th March with further remixes from the likes of Radioactive Man, Trenton Chase and Anna Wall...

C.A.R. (Choosing Acronyms Randomly) is a musical project conceived by Chloé Raunet, a multi-faceted creative living in London. Her self-confessed crush on too many genres results in a unique blend of glacial electronica, post-punk and warming, introspective pop. 

Following three albums on iconic, queer Parisian label Kill The DJ and UK’s Ransom Note, the live act now consists of herself and Joni Green. This latest combination champions female empowerment, injecting fresh energy and hype into the show. Together, they are building a reputation for pulsing, magnetic, sweaty and unforgettable performances. 

December marked another excursion into uncharted territory with the release ‘avant pop masterpiece’, Anzu. More new songs are tricking their way into the set, and C.A.R.'s next LP is on the near horizon.

A fan of the weirder edges of electronic music, Chloé also DJs and hosts the monthly 'On The Slip Road' show on NTS Radio.
