Ahead of the release of Rhein-Main based duo INIT's (Benedikt Frey and Nadia D'Alò) debut album "Two Pole Resonance", Hivern Discs shares a full stream of the opening track "Take a Long Walk", with its initial sun drenched kosmische sounds slowly dissipating with the arrival of D'Alò's eerie vocals into the sinister and mysterious mood which echoes throughout the album.

We were massive fans of the original and immediately in love with this great remix from fellow Amsterdammers the Pin Up Club.

A mix full of energy and strength. We are presented with a most distinctive and interesting harmony played by the two voices of the synths. The rhythm and pace are a moving mechanism, contagious by its on nature. The influence of the sun, bounded to a masculine feature, leads the mix, crowned by a distorted electric guitar which suspends us in time, as if floating,  with bold and charming sharpness, before the big release that leads to the final crescendo. A crescendo that works its way subtly, so we can’t be fully aware of its advance and comfortably be taken by its driving will.

Opening with dreamy washes of sound and live drums that build to a euphoric crescendo, everything falls away to reveal a bassy electro jam, with rhythmic pulses like a robotic heartbeat.

PREMIERE | ½ GOTT - Die Nacht [Uncanny Valley] 2018

"Style" can be defined as that special ability to watermark every track with an instantly-recognizable identity.

Local Suicide, aka Munich's Brax Moody and Greek-born Vamparela, has it in spades. And following releases on labels such as Bordello, My Favorite Robot, Multi Culti, Roam, Duro and OMBRA, it only made sense that the duo would eventually find its way to Lumière Noire. 

After all, "black light" (as per the meaning of Chloé's label's name) could describe the way Local Suicide's music flirts with the more troubling zones of the listener's psyche, where danger roams and aural comfort is no longer a guarantee.

The EP's two tracks set a dark, shifty sonic tableau, in which German-American multidisciplinary artist – and a unique personality of the Berlin underground – Nicki Fehr comes to blend his voice with Vamparela's.

With its swerving bass slithering over a slow tempo, Leopard Gum is the perfect slow burner, a slice of comatose disco that will find its way to the darkest corners of nightlife – and haunt its DJ sets. The synths that come crashing across the track's Smagghe & Cross remix add their saturated signature that provide a different kind of hook through its breathless nine-minute run.

The same measured tempo is found once more on the more ethereal Already There, where Local Suicide affirm their adherence to the more captivating signatures of new wave and post disco. Permanent Vacation stalwarth Lauer adds a surprizing electro pop shimmer to the track, while Niv Ast's version maintains the tension of the original's superimposed vocals.

With Leopard Gum's opaque and impenetrable atmosphere, Local Suicide have released one of their strongest efforts to date.

This new release confirms its impeccable and eclectic taste and vision to the music - brilliant blend of cosmic krautrock, experimental rock, psychedelic road trip into the mind of Ashinoa, band project leaded by Chris Poincelot aka Abschaum. Something that could be the perfect soundtrack for a desertical road trip, or in the middle of a dark forest, or maybe while driving fast, but anyway to be listened really loud. C.A.R. (Choosing Acronyms Randomly) is a musical project conceived by Chloé Raunet, a multi-faceted creative living in London. Her self-confessed crush on too many genres results in a unique blend of glacial electronica, post-punk and warming, introspective pop. 

Following three albums on iconic, queer Parisian label Kill The DJ and UK’s Ransom Note, the live act now consists of herself and Joni Green. This latest combination champions female empowerment, injecting fresh energy and hype into the show. Together, they are building a reputation for pulsing, magnetic, sweaty and unforgettable performances. 

December marked another excursion into uncharted territory with the release ‘avant pop masterpiece’, Anzu. More new songs are tricking their way into the set, and C.A.R.'s next LP is on the near horizon.

A fan of the weirder edges of electronic music, Chloé also DJs and hosts the monthly 'On The Slip Road' show on NTS Radio.
