The incredible sample at the heart of this tune is selected from War’s OST for the 1978 cult classic ‘Youngblood’. Set in South-Central LA, the film follows Michael aka ‘Youngblood’ as
he’s pulled deep into the gang violence of LA. ‘Sing A Happy Song’ was previously flipped by east coast outfit ‘Brand Nubian’ to cult acclaim, but here the sample takes spotlight on a
much deeper cut...

The tune lays out a deep groove from the get go, with War’s infectious vocal taking center stage to allow for maximum funk. Keeping it restrained, the prime sample is saved for an explosive peak point, entrancing the dancefloor in a state of boogie. This is a truly sunshine inspired heavyweight cut to be used with caution, guaranteed to stir up the groove from Detroit to Peckham...

Charles has made his Boiler Room debut supporting esteemed selector Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, supported acts including Esa at Pickle Factory and Dr Packer at Brixton Jamm, and completed a headline UK tour with Tina Edwards with their Universal Sanctuary project. A truly versatile selector with a passion for eclecticism and a deep knowledge of his craft, Charles’ extensive experience centers him as a master of grooves. His expansive sets broadcast new and familiar sounds to the dancefloor with infectious energy, no matter what the style.
