Since 2015 Jack Keogh and Ciaran Martin, aka Boots & Kats, have established themselves as one of Irish electronic music’s most renowned touring acts . The pair came to DJ together initially as residents at Toast, a legacy house and disco weekly night in Dublin, before issuing a series of cleverly crafted, soulful disco edits.

The pair have since further crafted their own sound, combining elements of acid house, disco and infectious melodies to create peak energy moments in their sets, which have been a regular feature of electronic music festivals the world over, including Snowbombing, Parklife and Ireland’s own Life Festival.

Their debut on Hammer’s Remmah imprint sees the duo moving from their italo/disco influences to a heavier, club-focused sound. The EP title track is a full on 90s acid techno banger, with the rest of the EP charting a course through the cascading synth lines of Knox, the break-led groove of Nobody Else, and the driving techno of Push Pull.

Hey wassup, it's me Madgee and welcome to the vol 1. of my 'Madtapes' series. This mixtape serves as an introduction to the musical journey I started fifteen years ago, which ultimately lead to the launch of Bumper Records in 2023.

The 'Madtapes' vol.1

Toulouse in the House : voici le premier épisode du grand projet de Madgee, qui s’ajoute à la récente création du label Bumper Records plus tôt cette année. Il s’agit d’une rétrospective historique de l’évolution de la House music à Toulouse, dont les épisodes sortiront deux fois par mois.

Au fil de nombreuses interviews, Madgee nous invitera à découvrir au travers d’anecdotes surprenantes, l’histoire que nous racontent divers acteurs ayant contribué à la croissance du mouvement électronique. 

Entre DJ et propriétaire de boîte de nuit, animateur radio, disquaire et grands passionnés du mouvement, de nombreux profils parleront de leur expérience, ainsi que leur influence avec ce monde encore trop méconnu des Toulousains. 

 Pour ce premier épisode, on accueille Christophe, aujourd’hui animateur radio pour l’émission Sonic Riders sur la webradio Le Bon Mix. Nous traverserons avec lui ses différentes vies, à commencer par ses performances de DJ dans la House music durant les années 80’s. Il fut l’initiateur de nombreux projets favorisant la popularisation de la musique électronique à Toulouse, devenant une figure centrale du milieu de la House toulousaine.
