Cabarza Biography

Cabarza has been a prominent figure in house music over the past 25 years with his many monikers and releases on most of house music’s most respected labels. His sound has developed into a blend of sophisticated organic tech house, tribal and melodic music pushing techno which is made for the more discerning dancefloors.

With releases on Circus, Area Remote, Kaluki and Stereo, he has also had success with releases on Elrow, Materialism, Kaluki, Defected and many more as Pirate Copy. 

A child of the Manchester Music scene, he was a regular at the likes of the Hacienda and Home aswell as gaining residency for legendary underground club Sankeys. His studio was in Sankeys for 10 years and he has edged a place in the Manchester House Music Scene running nights and producing quality house and tech house.

After taking a break from releasing music to rethink his direction, he’s back for 2019 with releases on the mighty Under No Illusion Recordings and Repeat After Me.

His DJ sets are a selection of layers, samples and tracks he mostly produces himself, releases you will never be able to buy making his sets something you will only hear when you go to watch him live. As a former resident at Gods Kitchen UK in the late 90’s he warmed up for the like of Frankie Knuckles, David Morales and many more legends and to this day the importance of a “journey” from warm up grooves to peak time madness is what he holds as his golden rule, an art promoters and DJ’s alike seem to forget.

When talking about his influences he says “Ibiza is my second home, the balaeric beats and how they have developed from DJ Gregory to Themba and Artbat are my love. Luciano, Loco Dice, Nic Fanciulli, Martinez Brothers, Kolsch and Kerri Chandler are the sounds that made me start producing Tech House but I do not want to follow anyone’s styles, I want people to hear a record and say “That Sounds Like Cabarza”.

He has had releases on Circus, Area Remote and Stereo but also had success with releases on Elrow, Materialism, Kaluki, Defected and many more as Pirate Copy. His sound is a blend of tribal underground and solid tech house grooves.
