Using analog synthesizers, samplers, and custom-design software instruments, Cenk treats all sounds - instrumental or not - as possible raw material for music. Here, a single car horn can at once become a roaring brass orchestra, only to be replaced by a serene ocean of sound made up of stretched-out Indian raga loops. Through an array of mutes, effects pedals, and extended techniques, 

Arda’s trumpet covers a spectrum of sound including everything from Josquin des Prez to Miles Davis, from Muzeyyen Senar to Xenakis. This spectrum is further expanded by real-time computer processing, rendering the trumpet a catalyst for yet undefined worlds of sound. 

Together, Arda and Cenk create work that stands at the intersection of electronic and acoustic music; embracing accident, intent, improvisation, and composition all at once. Both classically trained at the Eastman School of Music, the duo’s music is just as informed by the past as much as by the future.
