Artcore is a weird and confusing genre that when I was tasked to make an artcore track, I was at a loss for what to go for. 

So I kept it simple: Piano, Violin, DnB. Just tell a story.

On the compositional side, I made use of a lot of call-and-response for this one.

I really liked the original, and even better is that they provided stems for this remix. Those stems included some really great color-bass material which were perfect to fill in the top frequencies to compliment the lower end of my tracks. 

The other thing I wanted to pay attention to was the intent of the original, which is to highlight their character Haruka. Given the cover art used and the line "Even if your heart belongs to her, I swore to protect you," I got this feeling of danger and it then progresses to safety and security.

Nstryder here. When Meta and I were discussing how this track should be structured, we were inspired by ARForest - Journey, where the first part is a lush fully orchestral section, followed by a high-energy electronic section. I weaved together the orchestra and Meta cooked up the following DnB section, then we both joined hands in the final drop to bring it all together.

Meta reporting. This track was so much fun to work on, and writing the main saxophone riff really felt rewarding and I got to use that sort of instrumentation for the first time in a track. I tried to capture movement in my work, and I hope this will be able to keep you engaged!

Nstryder here. This was initially a wip I sent combining happy orchestral toy breakcore in 3/4 time signature. It remained a WIP until Meta reached out to me and wanted to really make it into something full, and he happened to be in the mood for something really energetic and high speed. We get on a Discord call cooking this together for the next 5 hours, and when the smoke from the oven cleared, this masterpiece emerged.

Meta reporting. When Nstryder sent this wip in a group chat initially, I was ENAMORED with the idea and it really reminded me of music by kamome sano electric orchestra. I asked if we could pick it up and we went absolutely insane on this. This track is honestly by far my personal favorite to work on and it was an absolute ride to go through with this track.

Light On This Path

I was invited by SpiralFlip to make a track for Project Phantasia's sequel. As someone who grew up on JRPGs of different eras, I was STOKED for such an opportunity. I pulled out all the tricks I use when composing video game OSTs for this track. 

My main idea was to make a fast-paced mid-boss fight theme. I was at a loss on what specific direction to take it, since there are tons of JRPGs I can pull from.

So I did.

- Verse: Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists (Soaring Clouds Drifting Haze) + SaGa Frontier 2 (Endverkünder)
- Prechorus: FF8 (Force Your Way) + Explorers of Sky (Time Gear) + FF13 (Saber's Edge)
- Chorus: Xenoblade (Mechanical Rhythm) + Explorers of Sky (Fight to the Finish) + Ys VIII (Crimson Fighter)
- Verse 2: Atelier Shallie (Soaring Clouds Drifting Haze)
- Prechorus 2: Terraria Calamity (Roar of the Jungle Dragon) + FF1 (Prelude) + Chrono Trigger (Main Theme)
- Chorus 2: Same influences as Chorus 1 + Guitar influenced by ToCS (Don't be Defeated by a Friend! Super Arrange)

Even tho Trails/Ys is only mentioned here once, the composition style in general is HEAVILY influenced by the many battle themes of Trails and Ys. Thank you Falcom for making awesome games.

NOTE: Track is loop-ready if you wish to use it in games and videos. BPM is 280, just set loop start at around 0:12 and loop end at around 2:26
