All songs on the album are experiments in creativity, made from scratch. It is also the newest album I've been working on. So far, I've been recording a guitar track for each song, and then going crazy from there. There are no wrong answers. I had actually made an original Masidog album, but lost all of my songs other than I'm Leaving on a Sunday, and In Yellow. The rest of the music has been made after. This is the Masidog.

The Masidog

This is a collection of songs I've made over the past few months. Some of them through Garage Band on my phone, and some of them on my laptop with Logic Pro. It may have been a short period of time making this music, but a lot of life was lived in the making of it all. Every song is pretty unique, and my mind was all over the place throughout creating this. It made for many different colors of music and it's cool to know all of these songs came from the same head space.

Head Space

This is a conglomerate of songs I've made over the past year or two, ranging pretty far from one another. I felt like they were all a similar vibe, and deserved one album to themselves. I'm leaving them as instrumentals for now, but perhaps in the future I will re-release them as full lyrical songs. Although sometimes I like being able to leave a song open as far as vocals go. It just allows for a new song to be made every time. And with these all being generally hip hop beats, they are the best to just throw on and freestyle with. So here's a whole album to kick back and capture the vibe of each beat, and hopefully come up with a half decent freestyle lol.

The Beatmaker

This is another, smaller collection of songs that I found to be in somewhat of the same nature. These are my first real tries at making something techno like, and I'll probably be adding more to this album in the future. But I definitely get a good time traveling sesh in when I play these back, so hopefully it can do the same for you. I made everything from the drums, to the pianos, to any other sound you can possibly hear on my virtual keyboard. So it's quite interesting to think all of these sounds can come from just pressing buttons and playing notes. More music to come in the near future.

Patterns

This album, of all the last few I've put out, I hold nearest to me. For whatever reason I thrive off of this sound. Whether it's the heavy and complex guitar riffs, or the vocals I rarely do, or the messages that are contained within, I just like this type of music. I hope to make a lot more heartfelt, hardcore, and ultimately spiritual music (at least to me) very soon. I wanted this album to tell somewhat of a story, from chaos to calmness. I wish it was a little longer but I may just add more songs later on. Hope you enjoy.

A Slip in a Drippy Soul

This song started with an acoustic guitar, and slowly transformed into a vocal song when the music started coming together. Some of the vocal tracks are actually reversed, which is crazy because it sounds like I’m saying something. Weird…
Let’s just say, if someone were to reverse the entire song, I’m about 1000% sure they would lose their minds. Lol all the sounds you hear are made either with my guitar or my voice. And for the record... I did leave on a Sunday.

I’m Leaving on a Sunday

This song started with a couple chords I liked playing on my acoustic guitar. I added a few layers, threw a shit ton of echo and reverb on, and made some lyrics that resonated with me in a very intense way. A lot of tracks are reversed guitar riffs and/or vocal melodies. The lyrics are reflections of what I had going through my head, about where I was in life. And at the end, I wanted the bomb to explode. I guess being in yellow is like being in love. Just doesn’t taste as sweet.

In Yellow

I made this song on my iPhone, with Garage Band, through a pair of headphones. Started with a simple riff, reversed some tracks, made some melodies, and freestyled the lyrics for the most part. Then I threw in a couple drum tracks to spice it up and ended up with this. It was all made in a day. I don’t think I give enough credit to this song sometimes. Nothing but good vibes to meditate on.

Innaday

I recorded this song with my electric guitar, through my speakers, into my headphones, and into my phone. And all in the exact spot in the photo. However I had only recorded the chorus, and the different guitar riffs and melodies at first. Then I broke my hands. So instead of recording more tracks, I chopped and screwed, and layered all the previous tracks into this beautiful mess of a song I ended up with. I also made a simple drum track to add some dimension. What it lacks in quality, it makes up for in creativity. It’s more experimental than anything. It's just that hard rock slow love song.

Hard Rock Slow Love Song

I made this song a little over a year ago, around March-April 2020. Right before summer, when I began writing the rest of the album. It was the first song on an album called A Hint of Blue. I lost all songs other than this one. This began the whole story of the album. It was also the first song I got experimental with, by reversing some vocal tracks I had recorded, and adding some overwhelming effects. It changed the way I'd make music from there on out. But the lyrics are a pretty clear representation of my mindset when I decide to get clean. So as hard as it is to listen to sometimes, it still helps in those times.

The Strings

This song was actually the first one I recorded once I relearned how to record music on my phone. I originally wrote the first verse and chorus outside of my school, about the things I had been dealing with. When I finally recorded it, I must have been somewhere in the middle of coming down and believing I was still high. I was within some of the deepest darkest places I would know, even until today. And once I recorded what I had, I made the rest on the spot. I remember hallucinating and hearing voices in the music, so I tried to mimic them, and this led far into the next day. It was a rough song to experience but I'm glad I could make something out of it. I know there are other people that will have to live these experiences too, and this song is for them.

Been Low

I made this song outside of a hotel, sitting on the back of my truck with my guitar. I took a couple puffs off a joint, and was sent back to a time where I felt God in the air. Like he remembered me, and I remembered him all over again. Strange to experience, hard to describe. So I wrote the song based off of that feeling, and it transformed into something I'm very proud of. It's very raw, but I appreciate the vibe it gives me.

So the Moment Stays

This song came into view after I felt I had betrayed a friend. All of them really. I had been up all night into the morning, and sat on the porch of my house, and slowly let this song create itself. It probably took that whole day into the next to get a close to final idea of how the song would be. I think of this song as that feeling of guilt, moments before reaching closure with my confusion. It’s a pretty sad song altogether though.

Friends

This, being the final song on the album, actually was made quite some time before the rest. I believe it was the first song I had written once I began this journey many years ago. It was not meant to be on this album originally, but after finishing the other songs, I knew it was meant to be here. This song was made so I had something to listen to when I was coming down. I couldn't listen to any music at all when I was in that funk, so I had to fill that void. It's actually one of my favorite songs I have, because I remember very vividly making up each lyric individually at different locations. Even though it was all that time ago. And I feel like it's the perfect message for the end of the album.

Coming Down

This is definitely an interesting track. I couldn't even tell you where this vibe came into existence. I played some guitar chords, looped them, then looped some other guitar riffs in with it. Then I started whistling for some reason, and it kind of just stuck. And for the lyrics, I just recorded I think one or two phrases, and then copy and pasted them throughout the rest of the song. That is, until the ending of the song, where I wanted to change the entire feeling and atmosphere. To me, the whole song holds tension, right until the end. I wanted the outro to gently erupt into a beautiful, less chaotic flower, while never straying from its roots. Almost like it’s dying, and diving back into the past where it came from. I almost here ancient or native like sounds throughout the ending. However, it’s really just a fun experiment more than anything. It would be cool to re-master it and make some kind of music video for it. Now that I listen back to it, I definitely hear a hint of inspiration from Khruangbin.

He's a Bad Man

I made this on Garage Band, with no actual instruments, just instruments on the app. Which actually is much harder to pull off lol. But I did make everything other than a few of the drum samples. The name of the song comes from a thought I had, that a lot of the super cool and trippy people I know, are just stuck on speed time. Sometimes like myself. If you know what I mean. I was hoping to catch a vibe for those people. And the picture is just a collage of trippy photos I took while driving around, and then edited together. Spacey vibes.

Space Girl on Speed Time

I made this entire song with an unplugged, acoustic/electric nylon guitar. I started with the guitar riff from the beginning, and little by little added more guitar layers and effects. Then I threw a drum track into it, and edited a few parts to really draw some contrast throughout the song. The song gives me rainy day, dreamy vibes. The cover photo is just a few really cool pictures I took while driving, blending into each other. It reminds of a place I’ve seen, but have never been to. Which I suppose would make sense.

Daydream Junkie

This song was made on my dad’s acoustic/electric nylon guitar. I recorded it unplugged but added distortion and other effects on the app so I guess technically it’s not 100% acoustic. I also used a few different keyboard settings, which is really just the choir that sings throughout the song. And then I threw on a butt load of drums, both sampled tracks, and drum tracks I made. I had the original riff from the beginning, stored away for probably about a year. And then I was bored the other day and turned it into this jam. I made the solos pretty much one take, and did some reversing, chopping, and screwing where I felt necessary. It’s a pretty cool sound it pumps me up. Not for the faint of heart though I go in pretty hard haha. I made the cover photo by overlapping one picture I had like 5 or 6 times and it somehow created that. Honestly I have no idea how lol, but I loved it and it fit the vibe I was going for. Somewhere in my subconscious, I needed this song to be like an exorcism, because they both feel very similar. Angels singing, demons screaming, you know. It really sounds like spiritual warfare when I listen back to it. And it is supposed to shake you up a bit, so don’t be ashamed if you let some true colors out when you listen. Haha all in all it was really just a fun experiment to be a part of.

Psycho Gospel

I made this with my unplugged acoustic electric guitar, in a couple different hotel rooms. For me, this song conveys the array of emotions I was feeling due to the large amounts of cocaine and mushrooms I was consuming simultaneously. The sounds almost display a spiritual battle between the two. I feel like that information is necessary to understand the song, and more importantly the sounds. It's an experimental piece that turned into a clear representation of my mindset, and I'm happy to share it.

Running Out

This was made entirely on accident, yet with much purpose. However I am not too sure why this demon was conjured up. It takes me somewhere inside of myself that I didn't really want or mean to reach, but I'm not mad about it. Scratues...

Scratues

I do not know who Mister Wizard is, nor do I know Doctor Holyfunk but man they really came together in this one lol. I threw this together in a month or so of picking at it, mixing and mastering and all that jazz. The music leaves just as soon as it arrives, but it's an ever funky jam that fills my hippy soul with good vibes. Peace and love maaan.

The Morning Song was a project I had started some time back, that always ended up drifting into the morning by the time I had realized it. The initial purpose of the song was to encompass that feeling of not just waking up to, but being one with the morning as it happens. Towards the end of making it however, I perceived it much more symbolically as a song in the name of my sobriety. In the depths of my own drug filled fantasy world, I was able to compose and eventually record vocally this entire song. And now that it's finished I will always look at the morning as the place for rebirth of mind and body and soul. I'm happy to take whomever happens to listen on that trip with me.

The Morning Song

This was one of the first songs I attempted on Logic Pro, and I think it turned out pretty good. I plan on adding additional female vocals from a friend, but I was too eager to post the instrumental on here. I also hope to have another friend write some lyrics to rap over it, I think it would make the perfect song. For now I'll just post this version, and will most likely be putting the final version on Youtube in the near future. It has a heavy, almost tormented sound, yet enlightened. Like it's seen some things. Lol whatever that means. Great for freestyling, along with rolling up on your opps in their own hood. Try it out!

Hazy

This song is entirely experimental, and it was interesting to see it all come together. It may be a bit bassy, but I balanced out everything as best as I could to fit the song. I made it with my first guitar I'd ever owned, and newly strung, so I could hardly keep the strings in tune, which gave it a heavy psychedelic twist. The song has real stoner movie vibes. It is for the most part up to interpretation, minus the overlying theme inciting it's about drugs lol.  I think its trippy and fulfilling, especially if you've been in that mindset. And Still the Acid Man Melts..

In The Nod is a project that ended up mimicking both the calmness and intensity of nodding out as some may call it, while also allowing me to experiment with new chords and phrases that I wouldn't usually use. Which would sort of make perfect sense for the song. The contrast between the highs and lows are what make the song so compelling, and the almost dark-like nature of it is meant to be met with the overwhelming freedom of the guitars and guttural screams dug deep into the overall sound. Once again, this is music where there are no right or wrong answers, which allow for a greater augmentation of one's mind. Although I know some people may not know how it feels to live this song, I made it in such a way that the sounds would occupy the listener's thoughts, and allow a breath of this life to brush against their souls, in the hopes that anyone could understand these things more clearly.

In the Nod

This was just a fun project I made while at work in a couple hours. I learned how to use my laptop keyboard as a virtual keyboard for playing music, and went crazy from there. I was able to make the whole arrangement, along with the drums all on my laptop. Which is pretty freakin cool lol. But to get more in depth, I remember feeling a little off that day, until I started messing around with the music and this is what came out. A super chill vibe, with undertones of melancholy, that blend together to make this Lo-Fi study beat of some sort. I would like to get some vocals on it but for now I will just post the instrumental.

Melancholia

Liquid Dreams is a song I created on accident, like many others. I wasn't looking to create anything specific, but once I created the initial piano riff, I knew this is what it would become. It almost has the dance feel of older techno, while also sounding like more modern stuff such as Odesza and/or Trickfinger. Then again I don't listen to much techno music so this definitely happened on accident lol. I dedicate it to my Uncle Matt, who was formerly known as Liquid Dreams in his raving days, and the explosions of energy I get from this song are in honor of him. So fasten your seatbelt kiddos and prepare for the ride. This is Liquid Dreams.

Liquid Dreams

I made this song some time back, after a healthy dose of shrooms. I could not get comfortable in my skin, and I felt fully and utterly over it. So I decided to do what comes naturally and record some chords I had been cooking up, and went full trip mode into this project. While it wasn't very enjoyable to make, it is a beautiful song to look back on and recapture the essence of what I was feeling for a brief moment in time. It is also the first song back since I have upgraded my Soundcloud and I am very happy to be back and sharing music again.

Over It

This song was made a few months back. I was fairly intoxicated, and was trying to manage some thoughts and feelings I had at the time. I hear a little anger, and desperation, or an emotion of sorts related to that. The lyrics are short and sweet, yet very meaningful to me. And I'm not sure if you can call it grunge, but I was feeling pretty grungy in the making of it. Hope it satisfies someones inner turmoil the same way it did for me.

Phase

I made this song quite some time back. It has a nice, light, and breezy vibe to it. I had planned on making lyrics for it but after listening to it enough times I thought it would be better left as an instrumental. Although I'm sure someone out there could make this a hit. This song sounds to me purely like love and longing for something distant. And I always noticed myself watching the moon while I would listen to this, so I decided to call it Seleno. Which is apparently in some relation to the moon. So I just went with it lol.

Seleno

This was a fun song to make, as I only used the virtual keyboard on my laptop to capture the sounds. No actual instruments, just letters on a keyboard. It's a fun piece to rap over, and I had actually planned on lyrics for this one as well, but thought it would be better to hear other people's interpretations on it. It's mainly just a freestyle beat, but perhaps one day I'll make a finalized version with lyrics to accompany it. "Thoughts are like clouds in a windy mind."

Clouds In A Windy Mind

This is just another free flowing, semi lighthearted, instrumental jam song I came up with a few months back. There's only five layers worth of instruments playing, and not a lot to it overall, but I realized how much I enjoyed hearing this song and thought it should be recognized. I made it late at night, after not being able to sleep. I figured a fitting title would be "Night Song", because it embraced the essence of night time with the calm and mellow grooves, and brought me into the night while creating it. Very ironic. Maybe someday I'll make lyrics but for now I think it's just an easy song to listen to, especially when you're up all night.

Night Song

This song, as simple as it is, displays everything I want out of music. While it's soft and welcoming, it weighs on my soul so very heavy. And it's some of the most profound lyrics I've been able to channel in a very long time. It's nothing more than a piano, a rhythm and lead guitar, and some lyrics. For the lyrics I recorded nonsense mumble words, and then reversed them, and found messages I would never had thought of. I'm very happy to have made this song.

Uhloo

Friday's Sound is a project I made with no intentions in mind. I was kind of in the electronic sound space mood and thought it would be a good idea to go full out with sounds and vibes. No actual instruments, just virtual sounds on my laptop. I also thought I should add vocals to it on one particular night where I was somewhat intoxicated, and I think it complements the song as a whole. I'm not entirely sure what the lyrics are, but this is what I ended up with, and I think its a bop lol.

Friday's Sound

I made this song at work, a little stoned and with nothing to do. It really does take me on a trip, and it's kind of nice to reminisce on. It's like being in another world for a few minutes, and it's especially nice when I can go full out, and make really trippy electronic music like this. I just used my laptop keyboard to make the sounds, and think it turned out pretty good.

A Trip in Time

I made this song some time back, probably about a year ago. During Winter of course. I've really took a liking to hip hop instrumentals, or stuff of that nature. This song is one of my favorites for just freestyling. I actually had a whole song with freestyles and vocals made up but I decided to leave it as an instrumental. That just means you can make a new song every time lol.

Winter Blues

I've been sitting on this jam for awhile now, and I'm glad I finally get to post it. I get a unique vibe from listening to it, almost like a hero vs villain type of thing. I explored some different chords and feels, all on the virtual laptop keyboard, made the drums, and it was a pretty big sound I got from it. Perhaps a little unlike my usual style but maybe it fits right at home. Definitely good for freestyling.

The Revelation

I made this song in a couple of days, with no intentions in mind. I was caught in a delirium of sorts, while being sick for a few days, and somehow managed to throw this together. It's just an instrumental for now, but I hope once I get my mic working again I can lay down some vocals for it. I get the kinda lo fi vibes of sitting at a stoplight in space when I listen to this song. Just the uniformity and overall busyness of the song, coupled with the groovy and almost psychedelic instrumental sound captures that vibe for me.

Cosmic Stoplight

I worked on this song for a good couple of weeks, and at first, I wasn't too convinced I wanted to keep it. That is until I spent some solid hours making it sound good. And then days. I intentionally went off beat for most of the rhythm, I guess to switch things up. The whole song is a monstrosity honestly. I've been really trying to exercise making new sounds and creating good techno-like music. It was a pretty fun song to make, and it feels good to go all out with no expectations.

Shimmering; Wavering

I made this song in about 3 or maybe 4 days, in my usual hardcore, hyper-focused fashion. I wanted to complete this album I've been working on, of fast paced techno music, and I felt like this would be a good closer. So it fits somewhat of a concept, but at the same time the song breathes its own unique life into the album as a whole. I let the outro be a free flowing, no order, mess of sounds to ease the intense emotion of the rest of the song. And it ends the entire collection of feelings I had that ended up inspiring the album "Patterns".

The Static of Heaven

This was another electronic project I decided I would add to the album. I really didn't want anymore songs for the album, but this lovely masterpiece manifested itself, and I just couldn't leave it out. I wanted to fit somewhat of the concept of trippy and psychedelic, while also letting the song stay a free soul, and to be something fun to listen to. Hence why it's about a jungle and not something so deep and spiritual. However I feel there could be some ties between the strangeness of the jungle, and the absurdity of being under the influence of psychedelic substances. So maybe that's something. I also thought that it maybe somewhat sounded like Jungle music, although I'm not sure if I have my definitions right. I made the drums as complex as possible, and I think that fits somewhere in the Jungle category lol. No matter what genre you call it, it has a stimulating and unique sound, and I hope it tickles the techno fancy for ya. By the way I did create that picture from scratch. It originated as an actual photo, or photos rather, that I took with my phone. And I have no idea how, but this is what it became. And it fits the song beautifully.

Psychedelian Jungle

Euphoriaura is exactly as it says it is, and pretty much speaks for itself. I felt like going a little more in the happy direction with this song, and I think it definitely inspires happiness when I listen to it. But you know me I had to throw in a crazy melodic and psychedelic bridge like thing to completely transform the song. But I also think that fits well, and makes me appreciate the rest of the song even more. All in all it took me a few weeks to make this, with very precise and meticulous execution. I sat on a song title for most of it, and the moment I thought of Euphoriaura I just went with it lol. It's a good listen.

I made this song probably about 3 or 4 years ago, and ended up losing it before I knew how to post it. It's been silently awaiting a return, and I felt it was my duty to get it done. For months I had been unable to record. And by some chance God decided that it was time for my recording equipment to work again. So I remade the song, with all of the original beauty no one got to hear, all while incorporating new ideas of music making I have learned along the way. And this is what came out. By the way, I thought of this song's existence on a 5 gram mushroom trip. Love is an Accident..

Love is an Accident

This is another song, from an old album called "A Hint of Blue". It was created and almost perfected 4 years ago, before I lost it. Now today in 2024, I believe God has called me to recreate it. As tough as it is to relive the feelings, I feel very blessed to have the ability to perform it again. All while making it as new as possible. It is a medley of sorts, as I must have had a lot of different things running through my mind back then. Still gives me chills every now and then lol.

The Big High

A Hint of Blue was the first song I wrote for this album, hence why I thought the album should be named after it. It represents a couple different things. One being, that my life at that time, no matter how good life got, there was always a hint of blue. Like there was a big ol depressing blue shadow cast over me at all times. But I'd say the original meaning behind the title, was how every time I would take a couple hits of acid, I could see the most beautiful and unique blue I'd never seen around any source of light. Quite like the picture. I used to just stare in awe at how intricate and special the little ring of blue light was everywhere I looked. I use to trip a lot lol. As for the music, it was originally an instrumental piece, that I worked day and night to master. The finger style guitar is what gives it, it's own personality. I found that in some sections, I heard water, and calmness, and in some confusion and madness, and some just absolute burning fire. I almost left it an instrumental, but I always sang the little chorus ending piece over the music when I would listen. So I thought I would add it in this time. A Hint of Blue.

A Hint of Blue

Influences range from Alice In Chains and that gloomy grunge sound, to my roots of soulful reggae music like Rebelution and the entire Marley family, to my favorite funky flavor of music, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. (And surely everything in between).
With that being said, John Frusciante is probably my biggest influence as of late. However I try to hold no limit to myself when making music, so every sound and idea has a chance to be born. I’d just like to share some vibes and experiences I’ve been through, because I am sure some can relate. And if you do happen to feel the music as personally as I did, then that would make the music ours. Which means this music is as much for you as it is for me.
