This recorded mix was the very same played at 6-9am Sunday Morning at Rabbits Eat Lettuce festival, what an incredible journey!

Words from the artist: Playing at a festival like, Rabbits Eat Lettuce, one of the best festivals in Australia, from 6am to 9am, at the DriftLab stage was one of the best experiences of my career.  Driftlab was without a doubt, was one of the best stages of the entire festival. That beautiful valley, full of big trees, making  an acoustic shell which made everything harmonically perfect. The whole musical journey that Sunday was amazing, with artists like April Kerry, Jona, Moe Aloha and Sriracha playing before me. It seemed that there was a synchronicity between each of the djs. At 6am I dropped my first track, along with the first rays of sunlight of that day. The atmosphere changed from lights and lasers to sunlight along with sounds of nature waking up on a cold sunny Sunday. For the first time, I felt something incredible inside me that I had never felt before, and the connection between me and everyone there seemed to be on a single frequency. This was felt in an intense way that made the 3 hour set turn into a beautiful musical journey, full of colours and deep feelings, making everyone feel that present moment, alive and dancing with the sun rising and warming the soul of everyone present. It really was an incredible experience that will remain forever in my memory.
For me, having this set posted here on Flow Sessions means a lot in my career as a DJ. It is an immense pleasure to be part of this select group of incredible artists around the world. I would like to thank Flow Music for creating an original, solid and thoughtful concept, focusing not only on established artists, but also on Australian artists, who seek and dream of opportunities like this. I hope you like this mix and that you can feel a little bit of what I felt that day. Peace and Love.

From their base at the famous Riverside studios and regular performances at Watergate, GHEIST are crafting a delicate but powerful style.

This Saturday, September 29, we present The Brooklyn Mirage 2018 closing event, The Cityfox Experience: Transcend, a three-stage festival with 8 live acts and 10 DJs, friends and favorites both old and new, playing the highest of quality house and techno (bit.ly/Cityfox929).

The Romanian born, Berlin-based, Sandrino has crafted this delightful Foxcast as we countdown.

Driven by his passion for house music in all forms, Sandrino is most drawn to its deeper and melodic slants. In 2010, he met and formed a self-named duo with Frankey, producing tracks that landed on Innervisions and Kompakt, before they launched their own imprint, Sum Over Histories. He first played for Cityfox in 2016, immediately becoming a favorite, and gracing our decks each year since.

In this Foxcast, Sandrino adeptly builds the energy towards the finale (no pun intended), kicking off the mix with spacey, almost ambient atmospheres and subdued percussions but steadily working its way up. The subtle but consistent rhythms and synths intertwine, until we eventually wonder when the journey ensnared to a trancelike state of introspection. Melodies pair with thick harmonies giving way to raw, stripped-down dance floor-centric tracks, peaking in the latter half with a surge of energy, beautifully demonstrating Sandrino’s range in a mere 60 minutes, before closing out with a splash of electropop - the things dreams are made of.

Sandrino’s set is not to be missed, as his Foxcast clearly indicates. Join us for our last dance in our summer home.

GHEIST are a Berlin-based production and live band, who’ve been conquering some of the city’s best known dancefloors one party at a time for the past three years.  They’re also regulars at one of Berlin’s landmark venues, Watergate, where they kickstarted the project, and since have experienced a meteoric rise, wowing audiences across the globe with their rich and emotive sound. Fusing progressive with house and techno textures, the German natives have forged a deep, melodic sound of their own, which is melancholic and euphoric in equal measure. 

The four-member band, who have played a number of clubs and festivals, have built a reputation as a versatile group, alternating between a full-on live performance and a hybrid DJ set. 

As every good live act, GHEIST’s prowess in the booth stems from their incredible studio productions, which have landed them on various imprints, including Sasha’s seminal Last Night On Earth and Solomun’s DIYNAMIC.

As a natural continuation of their artistic vision and sound aesthetics, GHEIST launched their own imprint, Radau Records, in April 2018. Radau, meaning “noise” in German, gives a more intimate feel to GHEIST’s delicate yet powerful sound, as every aspect of the release  – from the sound production to the artwork – is created by GHEIST themselves.

Just a few months after joining the People & Machines artist roster, GHEIST landed their debut release on DIYNAMIC, Arrival EP, and played their first gig at Solomun+Live at the sun-kissed Destino Ibiza in July 2019. With more exciting releases on the horizon and an increasingly busy touring schedule, it’s clear that we’ve yet to see what GHEIST are really capable of.

Cadenza is a space for music to grow, rise and blossom. It is an accessible platform created to receive new people, projects and their influences. By continously searching and progressing, we are a part of the evolution.

We are all spiritual people, free as our music, and we live for that reason.
