New music, new energy - Critical is proud to unleash the latest edition of cutting-edge sonics from its ever-evolving roster of talent.

Featuring 21 tracks that encompass the full Critical sound, ‘New Energy Vol 2’ combines fresh music from core label acts with productions from the imprint’s latest wave of recent contributors and fledgling artists.

Emperor’s ‘Jealousy’, ‘Close To You’ from label boss Kasra, YANO’s ‘Drained’ and Particle’s link-up with MC Verbz on ‘Stay The Night’ bring the late-night soul amongst a collection of tracks conceived for and born from the darkest corners of the dance floor.

There are tough, no nonsense and expertly crafted rhythms from well established names Enei, Calyx, T>I and Samurai Breaks (who debut on Critical with the manically experimental ‘Lemon Poppers’).

As always with Critical, though, the focus here is firmly on the future, with the bulk of tracks coming from the many newer names who have debuted on the label and its talent-shaping offshoot Binary over the last couple of years.

Unashamedly heavy, deliciously brutal rhythms come from the likes of SMG, VISLA, ABLE and QZB, alongside stepping grooves from En:Vy & Molecular with ‘Black Opal’ and Waeys & Azumai’s ‘Doggy Marriage’, plus template troubling, experimental crushers from Spectral on ‘TurboWave’ and Napes’ grime inspired ‘Balaclava’.

Reaching right across the sonic spectrum - ‘New Energy Vol 2’ is a panoramic perspective of electronic music’s most forward-thinking genre.
