Endless Fluctuations to trzecia część cyklu zapoczątkowanego przez epkę wydaną w Recognition. Jej kontynuacją jest "Futher Fluctuations" – debiutancki album Krzysztofa Ostrowskiego. Nerwowość poprzedniej część tej trylogii przywodzi na myśl bunt sztucznej inteligencji. "Endless Fluctuations" jawi się z kolei jako posthumanistyczna utopia stworzona przez anarchistyczne maszyny. Pomimo rozpadu dawnego porządku panuje wśród nich dziwnie uspokajająca harmonia. Bity postanowiły porzucić kierat tanecznych struktur, a prosty syntezatorowy riff, zamiast zabawiać spoconych bywalców jakiejś dyskoteki z lat 90-tych, wybrał się na wycieczkę w kierunku bezkresnych kosmicznych sfer, by pooddychać czystą metafizyką.

TR038 - aircode - 'tunnel vision' [sample]

Argentinian electronic artist Aylu's taste for wacked-out humour, interstellar synths, awkward funk bass lines and pointillistic computer music is tied together on elastic bands, thrown around and webbed into this kaliedoscopic new suite. Moments of hallucinogenic ambience emerge then elapse, tumbling into wiggling rhythmic patterns. The ghost of Jaco Pastorius haunts the mainframe, battling in real time with pinball machine synths and splattering digital percussion. The James Ferraro 'post-internet music' influence in Aylu's music is apparent, but there's something about her work that feels more rooted in the physical world. When sounds of percussion rattle like builders hard at work, and voices appear both singing and yawning, it serves as a perfect metaphor for practice; music that is made from hard graft, but with tongue firmly lodged in cheek.

"I like the temporal nature of music, being something that develops over time, which makes it different from a photograph or a painting. You can step into a narrative in a fictional world, not because it tells a story per se – I am not telling a concrete story in my music – but as a space you can enter and navigate. xr/spool: is a talented italian experimental producer whose purpose is to depict unknown territories in music. After releasing a wonderful tape earlier this year on Comic Sans Records, he pursues his collaboration with the label by delivering a one hour show in which ambient landscapes are crossed by powerfull experimental club music.

Cafe OTO opened in April 2008 with the aim of providing a home for creative new music that exists outside of the mainstream. It comprises one large cafe/performance space open during the day serving food and drink with an evening programme of live music almost seven nights a week. 

OTOROKU is part of OTOProjects - a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) that has been set up to manage the programme at Café Oto. Any profits from OTOROKU are put back into supporting what we do and will help us to continue programming the best musicians and performers from all over the world.
