Before my very well thought out list, a big shout out to a local Phoenix artist I am a huge fan of, 
- Andres C. Rodriguez a fierce talent for which the spotlight will never be bright enough.  His solo "The You and Me Thing" is the greatest album you have never heard.  His subsequent releases in the local band Veragroove only get better as his he is a lyrical savant.

- MetallicA will always be the #1 no need to support such an obvious choice, for those who hate will always be haters.

- MegaDeth and Pantera round out my summarization on the epitome of what Heavy Metal is.

- Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, and Korn deserve a shout out. 

- Sublime for the one of a kind sound and front man bradley brings his personality which makes anything he would sing/scream sound great.

- System of a down and Static-X are prime examples of how greatness can come from focused insanity.

- Hip-Hop is a genre I am incredibly critical, only those with a certain type of unique quality I can't explain earn my approving head nod; I.E. Tech N9ne is in a league of his own with his unique approach and obvious skill with his speed and delivery.

- DelTron, Immortal Technique, Andre Nickatina, Brotha Lynch, Hopsin, and Ritz all poses that one of a kind sound, all unique in their own way, everything radio Hip-Hop isn't.
