A new place always brought an air of mystery and intrigue with it. There was so much to discover, both in plain view and beneath the surface; you just had to know the right people to find out. Getting lost was the most exciting way to explore, wandering aimlessly through the streets and being ushered into secret spaces, sharing a conversation with a local that generated an even longer list of destinations. As long as they moved, discovered and explored, boredom would never come knocking at their door.

Not long off the back of his debut album, Mexican producer and Fucanglong Files co-founder ALF CHAMPION is at it again, this time bringing fellow local producer MDHNTR into the fold. The pair collaborate on a new two-tracker for Edinburgh's Paradise Palms, which take us down opposing paths though equally as hypnotic. Intricate tribal rhythms and a pulsating bassline characterise the opener 'Gnic Nad (Drum Version)', while on the flip, closing track Alaib Do (Dream Version) allows us a moment of introspection as we're carried along by its revving beat, mysterious atmosphere and humming chords.

Dina Summer (@dinasummer), the Berlin-based collaboration between Kalipo (@kalipo-1) and DJ couple Local Suicide (@localsuicide), are back with ‘Revenge’, the second single taken from their upcoming debut album, ‘Rimini’. The track perfectly showcases the group’s retro disco influences and feels like a journey through time. It is a fun, groovy and melodic track with washed-out synth chords, bouncy bass lines, and staccato stabs that is perfect for any listening experience.
The project is fronted by Dina P, the Greek native who lends her vocals and thought-provoking lyricism to the act. She first started performing as a teenager on local radio stations, making waves as one of the first women DJs in Thessaloniki, before later moving to Berlin where she met her husband and DJ/Producer partner, Brax Moody, to form Local Suicide. Bavarian-born Kalipo is the third member of the group who started his music career as the producer and band member of the German electro-punk band Frittenbude. While the trio initially met at a rave at the Rock am Ring festival in 2013, they only began working on music together in 2019 and have since been refining their combined sound.

Their new 4-track ‘Revenge’ EP includes a radio edit and an extended album version with upbeat synth lines and warm summery grooves. The release also includes a darker, gritty saw edit with a driving saw bass and arpeggios and a stripped-back, pulsing dark disco edit with washed guitars and plucks. All the different interpretations of the track reflect the group’s varied influences ranging from 80’s disco, 90’s electro, new wave and downbeat.

Releasing via Audiolith (@audiolith) on the 6th of July, 2022, the ‘Revenge’ EP continues the nostalgic journey through retro disco sonics that is perfect for the vibrant summer season!

The genre re-defining chameleons of Hard Ton are back on Schrödinger’s Box with their own brand of style-splitting acid house disco. Bigger is Better, a double EP album has all the depravity and drama you would expect from these disruptors. “Be Somebody” is a proud call to a dirty beat; chin up, chest out and let the claps and hi-hats fly. Flanger effect units are pushed to the max in “Trip To Your Mind”, an acid dripping, falsetto bending banger. Rhythms collide and sweat hits the floor in the body jacking “You Want Me” before the new age rave mantra of “Transcend Your Body” with its steepling synth stabs and 303 barbs. The close, “Girls and Boys,” is inspired by a Brit Pop hit. Beefed-up, muscled-up, this club-ready weapon will bring the house down.

BIOGRAPHY    


Cafius is a classically trained drummer, musician from Kyiv, and sound producer whose compositions are geared towards making dancefloors move. He is a frequent guest at various techno festivals and clubs all over the world. As a DJ and producer, he has a distinctive musical vision in Indie Dance, House, and Techno.

Cafius made his debut with a release featuring singer Philip Strand — the song "Boom Boom" — which accumulated over 4 million streams on Spotify. He then followed up with a massive EP on the Diynamic label titled “Lost Time”, which received huge support and included a performance alongside Solomun.

His releases span respected labels such as Diynamic Music, Turbo Recordings, and Truesoul.

Cafius has received support from some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Pete Tong, Solomun, Adam Beyer, Tiësto, Claude VonStroke, Green Velvet, Nicole Moudaber, Vintage Culture, Steve Lawler, Kölsch, Joris Voorn, Duke Dumont, Mau P.
