Huun-Huur-Tu (Tuvan: Хүн Хүртү Khün Khürtü, Russian: Хуун-Хуур-Ту) is a music group from Tuva, a Russian Federation republic situated on the Mongolian border.
The most distinctive characteristic of Huun Huur Tu’s music is throat singing, in which the singers sing both the note (drone) and the drone’s overtone(s), thus producing two or three notes simultaneously. The overtone may sound like a flute, whistle or bird, but is actually solely a product of the human voice.
The group primarily uses native Tuvan instruments such as the igil, khomus (Tuvan jaw harp), doshpuluur, and dünggür (shaman drum). However, in recent years, the group has begun to selectively incorporate western instruments, such as the guitar. While the thrust of Huun Huur Tu’s music is fundamentally indigenous Tuvan folk music, they also experiment with incorporating not only Western instruments, but electronic music as well.

They speak to the heart and communicates with the world of spirit which you can access through that very center in your own body.

English: The Tropical Twista Records presents its second compilation, gathering artists for a musical journey through cultural and sonorous experimentations. In this record we present 15 tracks of big artists from Brazil, Argentina, China, United States and Germany, harmonically permeating and creating a context of latin, african, brazilian and oriental themes, sharing a scenario where music and ethnical plurality influentiate our relation with the environment. 

Each work offers a certain impression of the new electronic art, either travelling through already consecrated aesthetics or pursuing new possible paths. 

The meeting point is the conquer of a new space where rhythms and cultural expressions go further beyond the regional sphere. 

Our common region is the music of the nature, the hidden chants of the Earth and the sound that echoes with the silence. 

The peace and the synergy give way to the new electronic rituals. The cultural expression open space to a dialogue with the plurality.

This album is a tribute for World Cultural Tree. It contains traditional Tuvan tunes and songs with Radik's arrangement and songs written by him and his relatives.

Altai Kai (Turkic Throat Singing)

On the road between Memphis & Bamako. The musical merger of Habib Koité and Eric Bibb brings together two soulful histories into a never-before heard guitar sound that is passionate and ebullient. Growing up in Mali, West Africa, Koité is heir to an ancestral knowledge set to song that places him among the most influential voices of contemporary Africa, while Bibb’s lineage in the traditional blues sound has produced an earthy mix of folk and gospel dating back to the work songs of the deep south. Forging a bridge across the Atlantic, Bibb and Koité are two talents too exhilarating to ignore.

Eric Bibb & Habib Koité - Touma Ni Kelen/Needed Time

This is a recording of a set of singing bowls.  The root bowl is C#, the Aum tone or Earth tone.  The other bowls are harmonized with the Chakras in this scale.

These types of singing bowls have been used since ancient times in meditations and healing work.  They are traditionally made with 7 metals representing the 7 planets that the tibetan monks were aware of at the time.  The bowls produce monaural beats and harmonic overtones that affect body and mind on a deep level.  The bowl set here is based on the Earth tone.  This is also known as "Om" and is the calculated sound signature of the Earth as it travels around the sun. In Indian music this is also called the Sadja. The corresponding bowls were matched according to the Chakra system in Ayurvedic medicine.  This also corresponds roughly with the western major scale.
