Tom has been a constant presence across the electronic music scene in Glasgow and beyond for as long as we can remember. As a label head for headspace recordings and emoticon, or production releases under Nuclear Family, we have been nothing but impressed the quality of output and breadth of his musical knowledge. 

Tom has just released his most recent solo EP on 2sox. We highly recommend all 4 tracks.

EPM Podcast 162 comes from Were Going Deep’s label head, Placid. Laying down a 100% vinyl mix, Placid digs deep into his crate of underground gems producing a glorious set of acid house rhythms backed by inspirational electronic productions. Steering us into a hypnotic, deep techno state, Placid peppers the mix with elements of rave, electro, breaks and house with the subtle dexterity of a true master. Blending tracks from Marco M Berndt, Roman Flügel, Dircsen, Luke Vibert, Donato Dozzy & DJ Say, Afx, Estroe, Priori and more we get a mix from true clubland maestro at the peak of his powers.

Since 1990, Paul Wise aka Placid legendary for his sets of purest 303-drenched acid, has been spinning at house parties, clubs and festivals across the UK and further afield. Resident at the longest running and best acid house night I Love Acid, you can catch him playing at Were Going Deep parties in his hometown of Bristol and as part of Depth Perception (a collective of music obsessives playing deep electronic music across multiple genres). Placid's gigging biography has taken him to Detroit, New York, Berlin, France, Spain, Belgium and Holland as well as the Glastonbury and BLOC music festivals. 

Reputed to be the owner of one of the world's most encompassing collections of Acid House, Placid is a walking acid-house encyclopaedia who can always be trusted to dig deep into his records crate to bring you a pure vinyl set of the absolute best of Acid House, Detroit Techno, Deep House, Electro and Chicago House. He currently has a 15k strong group dedicated to the deeper sounds on facebook as Were Going Deep and his label of the same name just recently dropped their 11th release.

You wont really get it until you hear it on a proper sound system,  it just doesn't work on a phone or laptop. You cant flick through it either. Ransom Note’s new label Dance Music From Planet Earth have just released ‘Richard Sen presents Dream The Dream: UK Techno, House and Breakbeat 1990-1994’. The British Indian DJ/producer/record collector is a music dance music veteran with a proper heavyweight CV, whose Zelig like history goes even further back. Speaking on his Bleep mix, Richard explains: “All the tracks that I chose for this mix are from 1988 - 1995. I tried to choose tracks that were musical, deep, druggy and still rough around the edges. This is a snapshot of the kind of music I was playing back then - a personal selection of some of my faves. I'd like to think that they all stand the test of time and I still play some of them out now.”
