Next up on Greyscale are Italian duo known as Sibling with their new full length album. Previously they have released their music on Telrae, Dimbideep and a debut album on SK Black. The latter also included grad_u remix, supported by the legend Ben Sims, by the way. 
“Obfuscating” is formed of 9 deep cuts, one of which is collaboration with Russian fellow producer Heavenchord. The album is pieced together from dubbed-out atmospheres, hypnotic grooves and melancholic melodies. It’s a perfect play for late night listening sessions.

Knowing all too well that two—or in this case three—heads are better than one, Electric Deluxe are proud to announce ‘Deception EP’, a new collaboration from Droid brothers Raiz and Jeff Derringer.

Though Raiz first appeared—on record—only a few years ago, for a decade now Vidal & Vangelis Vargas, together with Drumcell, have been flying the flag for the west coast techno community as Droid Behaviour—the much touted event collective and label based in LA. Initially operating as the live PA outfit Acid Circus, utilising a blend of hardware and digital programs the pair have long established themselves both as formidable performers and astute producers, with a characteristically dynamic and streamlined approach to sound design. Years of classical training and a rich bed of musical influences also inform the Raiz sound, which takes its cues from Detroit and the deeper side of techno.

On the other side of the US: as founder, resident and creative director of Oktave, Jeff Derringer has become a key protagonist of underground techno in Chicago and New York over the last three years. Production-wise, following a stunning Subtrak debut in August 2010, he has since become aligned with Ali Wells’ respected Perc Trax imprint with a string of equally well received EPs.

For their first studio effort together Raiz and Jeff Derringer go straight for the jugular to deliver two pieces of dangerously robust marching material. From the Berghain-ready “Deception” to the severely precise “Deceit” there’s nothing misleading about ‘Deception EP’’s merciless floor orientations. Glaswegian Edit Select rounds off the EP with an atmospherically charged remix that’s as haunting as it is hypnotic.

Mattias Fridell, already involved into the techno scene since the 1990s is almost working like a machine. His releases on labels like Gynoid Audio, Eshu, Audio Assault and many others displaying a very creative output. With "Artificial Personality Layer" Fridell delivers his first full-lenght Affin EP, after appearing on Chris Page's "Used" EP with a superb remix. Listening to this 4 tracker, it is obvious that he's dealing with a lot of influences that hit him over this period producing electronic music. So this EP can be filed as a statement of continuousness of Fridells ingredients of sound. Enjoy!

The latest Greyscale release features two immense, sonic worlds fusing together for one outstanding musical adventure. Artists Sibling and Heavenchord team up to take Greyscale and the dub techno genre to even greater heights. The expansive development of sounds and ideas here are truly epic for the listener. Breathtaking melodies, well-defined bass notes and shape-shifting chords of perfection. The sounds are focused, polished and fluctuate throughout the programs in different and unique ways. Volumes dim and flicker while others subliminally and organically carry messages. A great balance of technical creation and mood building runs a theme here. Each song is carefully crafted using the entire spectrum of sound and it becomes easy to get lost in any particular one. For those that think dub techno can be too formulaic and too predictable, we encourage but in fact, we urge them to play this album so they can hear the possibilities pushed forward by these artists with a clear vision and fresh perspectives. An album that is full of depth and arguably some of the most creative in the genre. A must-have!
