African samples are awesome they really add the extra character too the sound and compliment ur whole drum kit well done on this tune friend ;)

I wrote this tune in honour of the Maasai of East Africa.  Some of the samples are quite rough sounding, but I still love them.

Next up on the Social(ist) edits series we have 4 hand picked gems plucked from obscurity to fill your ears from the wonderful Kompleks: AKA Bojan Lüle Gajic, whose CV is as impressive as it is diverse, whether DJing with Baris K, residing at Belgrade's Klub 20/44, or doing a collaboration with the legendary Detroit DJ & Producer Theo Parrish.

The tracks veer between Disco, downbeat, Nu Wave and even tread close to avant garde in places but maintaining that Balkan thread which punctuate the diverse Kompleks sound. The tracks date back to before the collapse of the Eastern Bloc with three of the tracks hailing from the former Yugoslavia and one from Soviet Union (Voskresenje, by Arkadij Horalov). 
This set of tracks showcases the diversity of sounds outside the US sphere of influence during the 1980s in uncertain times, times that produced a wonderful spectrum of music, lovingly picked by Lule and delivered to please your ears and your soul.

“Who is the Enemy?” is the first release by Italian DJ/Producer Ant aka A-Tweed based in Rome.
A conceptual body of work using afro-electronics fused with Celtic cultures, the 3 tracks dedicated to Scotland, Bretagne and Galicia respectively. The EP was symbolically recorded in Palermo, Sicily as a trait d’union with the Mediterranean and Africa. Sampling and processing bagpipes from Scottish, Breton and Galician traditional music was definitely the most delicate part of the whole work, trying to respect the sound and make it minimal and club oriented.
The first track “Drumnadrochit Afro Airlines” was written after a roadtrip along the Scottish Highlands and samples some beautiful percussive tunes from Tanzania Soundsystem (released by the Scottish label "Highlife").
“Brezhoneg Souq” is a tribute to the city of Rennes in Bretagne, symbolising a walk in an imaginary Breton/Souq market at closing time.
The eponymous track “From Accra to Vigo (Who is the Enemy?)” is dedicated to Ghana’s first PM and revolutionary, Kwame Nkrumah.
