Jansons is a name who has been operating just under the surface for many years, engineering for artists releasing on some of the most highly regarded labels in the scene including; Hot Creations, Leftroom, Hotflush, Madtech and Moda Black.

In 2016 Jansons is set to focus on releasing as an artist in his own right, and we are very proud to present his debut EP on VIVa MUSiC. Expect big things from Jansons this year, including a forthcoming collaboration with Richy Ahmed. 

“Brushing off my old vinyl collection and hearing so many great records from the past really inspired me for this release. I’ve built up a nice collection of analogue studio equipment over the years, which I love to use in my productions. Synths, such as the SH-101, feature heavily on this EP for ViVa MUSiC" - Jansons

Innovative duo Catz 'n Dogz have payed homage to the iconic Marlena Shaw vocal from 'Woman Of The Ghetto' by remixing the track with hard-hitting rhythm and a welcomed dose of acid.

In their own words, Catz 'n Dogz describe how the vocal is easily recognizable due to the St.Germain record ‘Rose Rouge’, but some may not be aware that the original hook is from a live performance by Marlene Shaw. 

“It’s been sampled by a lot of other people like Bob Sinclar, Grandmaster Flash and the famous 90s hit from Blue Boy. We have a lot of memories with this vocal because we were growing up in the 90s. That’s why we decided to do our take on this one. The first time we played it on a big festival we were shocked how well it works… That’s why we decided to release it officially."

'Woman Of The Ghetto (Catz 'n Dogz Remix)' is set for release August 25 via Pets Recordings.

He has released  with some of the most important labels in the underground scene such as Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It imprint, Get Physical Music, Viva Music, 20/20 Vision and Hot Since82’s Knee Deep In Sound imprint.

Here he makes his Circus Recordings debut, with a super cool, understated, straight up groove, no unnecessary over production, this one is for the heads...
The release comes as an Italian trio, with Stefano Noferini and The Mekanism making their Circus debuts too.

Few artists have risen from the Ibizan grassroots in the same manner as Manu Gonzalez. On an island focused on clubland and nightlife, Manu’s youth was immersed in the Ibizan culture, learning and understanding the landscape of dance music as we know it. After over 10 years of playing on the island at famous venues such as Hï, Ushuaia, Amnesia and IMS’s Dalt Vila spectacle, he also brought his own take on house and techno across the world to play shows at places such as fabric – London, venues across Chile – South America, EGG – London and Pacha – Barcelona. Manu Gonzalez now looks toward the next stage in his career. In a time when everything is not as it seems and in a world of misinformation, Manu Gonzalez announces the launch of his new label, Question Reality. 

A brand born in Ibiza and supported by a team of industry pioneers including Danny Whittle, Mark Netto, Mark Lawrence and of course Manu himself, Question Reality sets out to push forward the boundaries of underground music with a clear directive to support unknown talent on a platform that Manu has created. Not looking to keep themselves fixed to one style and as Manu takes on the A&R duties himself, the label will look to deliver quality music across the tech-house, deep house, house, techno, minimal and microhouse genres. Looking to develop sounds that Manu considers to be the sound of the modern Ibiza. He kicks off with a single from himself and Italian, Shaf Huse, ‘Bring Back’ which opens with an energetic percussion line and is backed up by a rolling bassline that flows and crashes throughout the track. Aimed firmly at the dancefloor, the track takes the listener back to memories of peak time Ibiza madness.

"‘Bring Back’ was made earlier this summer between Ibiza and Italy. I wanted to collab with rising star Shaf Huse after hearing some of his dancefloor hits and this was the same for him. The track is pretty different from usual tech house and that’s why I wanted to make it the first release for the label, Question Reality; I really like it. I’ve known Hector Couto and his manager, Mikel, for many years; we are good mates. I’ve been playing Couto’s music for a long time and it was special for me to have him remixing the first release on the label. I think he did a brilliant remix, bringing the Couto sound to our original, it’s tech house with dub flavour. I played it in Argentina this week for a sold-out club show of 1000 people and it works perfectly on the dancefloor; even at bigger venues, Matthias Tanzmann played it at Ants, Ushuaia Main Stage last Saturday to thousands of people!" - Manu Gonzalez
