Calabash Crew is a female Dj crew from Milan; Ila, Scilla and Leo met for the first time thanks to the Brucaliffo association from Limbiate, were they still organize cultural events. Brought together by the passion for reggae music, they started to collect and play vinyls, untill the first live session in February 2013. In a pretty short time they started to be part of the reggae musical scene in Milan and they began to collaborate with Vale aka Voodoo Vee, a young singer from the Hip Hop undergound, who soon became the Calabash Crew Mc. In winter 2013, the crew started a collaboration with Junior Sprea organizing some parties at Leoncavallo. Since September 2014 Calabash Crew has become resident sound of Leoncavallo in partnership with Junior Sprea and Serious Thing, founding the project «Run di Danz». Between 2014 and 2015, Run di Danz brought in Milan a big number of artists and sounds from the international scene, like Gappy Ranks, I-Shence, Warrior Sound Int’l, Heavy Hammer, Sentinel e Bass Odyssey. In November 2014 Calabash Crew started to organize reggae/dancehall parties with One Hertz in a new squat called Soy Mendel; with «SoYard» project, the two sounds created a periodic meeting ﻿to liven up the suburb area of Milan. In the meantime the girls took part in a lot of events in the north of Italy, sharing the stage with some famous artists like Mellow Mood, Brusco, Africa Unite and Sud Sound System. In 2015 Nina, a dancer and jamaican culture lover since 2010, met Calabash during lots of dancehall parties in Milan and finally she became part of the crew. 
In September 2015 Calabash Crew released the first mixtape: Calabreeze mixtape vol. 1, one hour of vinyl selection in free download (https://soundcloud.com/calabashcrew/calabreeze-mixtape-vol-1).
