I'm So Thrilled

* Over one year now... with the pandemic!
And most of us are extraordinarily stressed and highly "at tension"
always and everywhere having to be utmost careful and attentive
while keeping calm and patient at the same time.

Apparently, many of us feel overstressed and consumed - at or over the personal limit. And that's fully understandable.

BUT: 
I want to remind us all that there are millions of upright people who constantly work hard and "at tension" for the majority of us each and every day during the crisis. And for over one year now!! 
Those fine fellows who care for our health, our daily life and needs... those who show more solidarity than most of us are even able to imagine! I'm speaking of the socalled "systemically relevants" and even beyond...

It's really about time to honour these fellow human beings, give them the attention they deserve for being active, attentive and reliable while we're all "at tension" so long... !

So this small musical tribute goes
*to all people working "at tension" in times of the pandemic 
for the great care of all of us!*

This series came out of an idea I have had for a long time: to release my music from the strict boundaries of styles or categories. I write and play this music starting from a mood or idea and then through experiment or improvisation develop the pieces naturally, allowing any idea that comes to my mind in, whether it be classical, jazz, pop, rock, fusion, flamenco, tango, bossa nova, etc. The results are very personal to me, they are my musical vernacular, built from years of listening and playing with the guitar. 

Secondly, I use three guitar parts as it frees up multiple possibilities of composition and interplay. A form most familiar from the guitar trio of Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin and Al Dimeola.

"A Lot On Mind" ...

Do you know that? Having literally a brainstorm in your head,
a full blast of thoughts and useful or unuseful information?!
Physically tired but mentally wide awake...
And no on-off switch available.

Well, this track is about that condition.
A progressive musical sequence of patterns, 
a wide range of musical influences and style combinations,
connected by some mostly steady grooves and rich instrumentation.

Don't expect a wild or uncontrolled chatter of heavy thoughts
as I didn't intend to depict a kind of horror scenario.
It's just the allegoric interpretation of my own state of mind
and my usual workflow when making music ;-)

And before this tune ends it gives us all some tranquility...

A Lot On Mind

Ever wonder about "INTELLIGENT ALIEN LIFE"?
Who's to say that some forms of alien life are not so drastically different from us that we may not even begin to recognize them as life at all? 
At this point in the history of mankind, there is so much we still don't know.
So consider this... If it is possible that some small portion of alien lifeforms are nothing at all like us, or any other recognizable lifeforms on our Earth, then it must be possible that some alien life exists in a form that even our wildest imagination can't even possibly conceive of. 
Recognizing how that possibility is beyond the scope of my own comprehension, I tried to imagine something a bit more tangible. That brought me to the idea that "THEY" could exist as gigantic streams of pure energy, a form of energy totally unknown to us, flying through the cosmos on an endless journey, and possessing a consciousness and level of intelligence that challenges our wildest imagination.
As they dance and swirl in a flock, traveling near the speed of light, while exploring countless treasures in the cosmos... what would a conversation between them be like?
So... that's what I was thinking about as I composed this track titled "FLIGHT of the INTRIGOKNOTS", which is sort of a homage to the unknown.
And... coming back down to Earth... 
THIS MARKS MY FINAL AND RATHER EPIC MUSIC PRODUCTION for the year 2022!

The Change is here.  It's continues to be such a long road ahead, but we've now seen remarkable progress in upcoming vaccines for COVID and a new president has been elected in the US.  We're feeling a change.
Joining us on this original are the superb guitarists Stephan Lipinski and Daniele Turani, with whom I have created a whole lot of music.  Beautiful players who inspire me and others around the world.  But the key addition on our track is Los Angeles composer, producer and piano and keyboard player extraordinare, Brian McDonald.  He's such an incredible musician, who makes a living creating music for advertising and movies, and reworked the entire original, changing the structure, adding his wonderful piano and synth work, and turning this into something really special. FUEGO DE INVIERNO - WINTER FIRE - SHORT TALES PART VIII

In this part of my Short Tales Series, pieces for three acoustic guitars, I explore diversions from a very solemn, contemplative Flamenco style or "Palo" called Seguiriya. “Seguiriya” is one of the oldest flamenco styles. It is one of the most important with the “bulería” and “soleá”. More precisely I blend it with the Buleria. You can hear snippets of the original style here and there in this piece as well as the outro. I however travel into different fields of music with it, Latin, Classical and Jazz. The result is I guess Fusion or Worldmusic. 

I hope you'll enjoy this one as well as the full series of Short Tales for Three Guitars, which I will put up here as an album, as well as on Bandcamp soon for sale.

So fun to play with Audric Jankauskas on his tune.

This track is a very groove - driven one with guitars and guitarish lines, riffs and chops played and triggered completely by keys...
That's why it's titled "Keypoint".

Well, the socalled keypoint here is, that guitars triggered and played via the keys of a keyboard usually sound crappy or simply not authentic. At least I tried to execute the "axe" ...
But there are more points to get hooked by this track - it was a real pleasure to jam and build it up for me, filling it with a bunch of ideas and a whole lot of groove!

And that's for sure one of the major keypoints for me:
being pleased, satified and driven by positive energy...
in times when these aren't self-evident.

Hope you'll get hooked by optimism while listening as well!
