Hailing from Chicago’s rich lineage of dance music innovation, Watkins crafts three original cuts in Club Detroit, Soul Revival, and When I Fly Towards You. A trio that pulse's with a timeless blend of groove and soul. With warm chords, hypnotic bass, keys that keep you moving and reverent nods to the legends before him, Watkins packages his deeper sound into a truly contemporary narrative.
One of the hallmarks of a POTL release is often the remixes and the package as a whole, this time we have Myles Sergé adding depth to the package, the ever-elusive artist steps up with his Naked Parts Remix of Soul Revival, distilling it into a stripped-back, darker meditation that cuts straight to the floor. Label boss Jay Hill brings her own flavour with her distinct D’Lite version of Club Detroit: a deep-rolling extended reworking for late-night escapades, with Jay's uniquely chunky groove. Altogether, Perpetual Gruv EP embodies a return to foundational sounds for the label, always pushing fresh sounds inspired by the roots of everything they love.

Monday Off is a vinyl only record label from Brooklyn, New York, founded by Mary Yuzovskaya. Its ethos is to showcase artists that explore techno’s hypnotic side; specifically where trippy and dark music goes deep yet dynamic. For the third release, NYC/Berlin/Washington DC transplant Arthur Kimskii dives in with a heady trio of his productions. Title track "Verbal Variance" slowly unfurls with a myriad of textures and sounds to both confuse and delight the senses, while "Swan An Ocean For You" takes on similar terrain albeit kicked up a notch and warmer in tone. "Basement Moves" is an emotive and partially beat-less affair steeped in layers of noise, and Stephanie Sykes strips the A-side down for a sinister and chugging remix.

The enigmatic Myles Sergé is a low flying techno producer, hard working label head and old school DJ, however he prefers the term 'reclusive perfectionist'. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Myles experienced a temporary sojourn to the beachside of the the UK's Brighton before relocating to Berlin. In some respects the American's music bypasses the melodic classicalism of Detroit for a stripped-back European take on techno, though the mettlesome machine- funk of his raw style, and rough and ready prowess behind the decks, is never too far from the outer-regions of the US' motorcity he calls home.

As a regular guest at Tresor, with no stranger to bookings at Berlin's Berghain, Griessmuehle and ://about blank, to his residency at Steevio's Freerotation festival in Wales, Myles is a shining example of how one can traverse the European-American transatlantic divide. With a belt of labels under his control - (MS), Re-Form, Dosed and Space - Myles has since moved on to count the likes of NYC's Thema, The Zenker Brother's Ilian Tape and Dan Curtin's Metamorphic imprints as home for his music. Never one to boast, Myles Sergé Clark's revised approach to the warehouse techno of his recent mixes and DJ sets keeps the quality underground.
