In the Bible there is a universal romance, a romance concerning God courting man. John 3:16 reveals that God fell in love with the world. The world here means the worldly people. God fell in love with mankind. This love was the love which He had from eternity toward man. In eternity past God had a love toward man, so He became a man to court and to marry man.

1 Corinthians 10:4 And all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank of a spiritual rock which followed them, and the rock was Christ.

Exodus 17:6 I will be standing before you there upon the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it so that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Numbers 20:11 Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his rod twice, and abundant water came forth, and the assembly and their livestock drank.

John 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the rock smitten,
Who was struck to save me from sin.
Living water did from Him burst,

I realized that everything has been ordained and arranged by God for us to gain Him. He knows our situation! We can look to Him and come to His word so that we can give Him the way to gain us day by day!
